FRONTIER RUCKUS IN CONCERT:

For more than a decade, Michigan folk rock quartet Frontier Ruckus has been highlighting the wonder of everyday life with their poetic lyrics and intricately crafted songs. From the Americana-infused narrative of "Dealerships" to the prom story of "Careening Catalog Immemorial", the band's witty tunes give fans snapshots of universal experiences in a truly touching and unique way. Their intimate live performances match the music's compassionate tone -- whether the band is playing favorites like "Mona and Emmy" or presenting material from 2014's Sitcom Afterlife LP, Frontier Ruckus always delivers an emotional and satisfying concert experience on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Frontier Ruckus was formed in 2003 by singer-songwriter Matthew Milia and banjo player David Jones, classmates at Brother Rice High School in the Detroit metropolitan area. In 2006 they released their debut EP I Am the Water You Are the Pumping, which generated buzz in the Detroit area thanks to Milia's honest, poignant lyrics and unadorned singing style. The band made their full-length debut in 2008 with The Orion Songbook, a considerable critical success that drew the band out on their first US and European tours. Their 2012 sophomore album Deadmalls and Nighfalls was another triumph, earning 9 out of 10 stars from PopMatters and establishing Milia as a wordsmith of the highest order. Following the 2013 release of their third album Eternity of Dimming, the band continued to impress at festivals like Lollapalooza and End of the Road Festival in the UK. With their fourth album Sitcom Afterlife generating buzz in 2014, Frontier Ruckus has ticket buyers eagerly awaiting their upcoming shows on tour.

I loved all of their songs! I wish they'd played "Abigail" but I realize there were logistics in the way. They were also very nice after the show, talking with everyone and being very friendly. They even gave my sister one of their CDs because even though she listens to their songs on loop on YouTube, she has never owned a hard copy. It was so sweet!
