From Symphony To Jazz To Kids! Tickets

This performance was a wonderful event which combined the precise melodic music of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra with the improvised and rhythmic sounds of jazz musicians on one stage. The newcomers to the scene were very impressive, starting with the 5th grader singing the national anthem and special talents of Jazz Youth Orchestra and ranging to the ingenious combination of instruments by the Uptown Jazz Orchestra. The production recognized the stylistic qualities of local legends such as Ellis Marsalis, Kidd Jordan and Fats Domino. The event provided an excellent orientation to the hundreds of students in the audience on the music of the symphony and big band orchestras and acknowledged the talented artists who have contributed to the unique musical history of New Orleans.
