    Fountain Blues rises again!

by bluesnutz on 3/11/11Montalvo - Saratoga

This was an excellent showcase of the bay areas blues talents. I was disappointed with the headliner, Chris Cain, as he seemed very, ummm, how should I say it........distracted. I thought Gary Smith rocked on the harp, but Maxx Cabello and Ron Thompson were an amazing surprise. The entire cast was great.......and Kaye Bohler........WOW!!! What can you say about Kaye!

    Great Bluz

by BluzFan on 3/8/11Montalvo - Saratoga

The musical talent and energy at this concert surpassed my expectation, even of All-Stars. We were on our feet much of the time enjoying the music. Simply amazing concert.

Fountain Blues Fest. AllStars...What a GREAT Idea!

by MrSkipper on 3/7/11Montalvo - Saratoga

This concert idea is long over do. After attending the last 5 or 6 Blues Festivals at San Jose State, it was a lot of fun to see my favorite bay area blues performers on the same stage, at the same time. JC Smith, Lara Price, Kay Bohler, Ron Thompson, Gary Smith, and many more.... What a line up!! The rhythm section, Richard, Ron and Endre were cooking all night. Everybody got 3 songs to strut their stuff. ( unfortunately, time ran short and Kay and Chris Cain didn't get their full time, but they rocked anyway.) The Carriage House at Villa Montalvo is a great place for a good show. With 300 seats, there's not a bad seat in the house. I heard a rumor that JC Smith, the organizer of this event, might try to do it again , in the very near future. That would be a great idea.....Great seats, great music, great performances....A Triple Play.

    The Blues Lives

by RSantana on 3/7/11Montalvo - Saratoga

I managed to get tickets for The Fountain Blues Festival at the last minute and I feel very fortunate to have been there. ALL the musicians, and some being My friends, were absolutely amazing. The Carriage House is a perfect place to see the BEST up front and personal. It was a night to remember. Thanks to ALL for making it a perfect evening. The fact that the background music at Intermission was that of My cousin Andy Santana was kinda nice too....:)

    Fabulous Night!

by Jackdoodles on 3/7/11Villa Montalvo Carriage House - Saratoga

This was a dream come true - some of my very fave Bay Area blues artists all together at the top to their games at a fab venue. Plus the amazing Maxx Cabello Jr., whom I'd never seen before - the West has a new "Guitar Gun!" Chris Cain superb as usual plus JC Smith, Gary Smith on harp, the "other Smith" (drummer), Ron Thompson, Lara Price, Kaye Bohler, Stan Erhart, Richie Palmer on keyboards, the bass guy and the other harp guy: WOW!!!
