DirectionsFrom Boston and points north:
Take Route 93 South to Route 24. Take Route 24 South until it ends in Portsmouth, RI (approximately 55 miles). Take Route 114 South to the intersection of Valley Road in Middletown, Route 214. Take a left on Valley Road. Follow Valley Road south about 2 miles until you are facing the Atlantic Beach Club. Take a right onto Memorial Boulevard. Proceed to the light at the intersection of Bellevue Avenue and turn left. Proceed south on Bellevue until you see the sign for Fort Adams and take a right onto Ruggles Avenue. Continue following signs to Fort Adams, which will take you through 2 4-way stops until the road dead ends at Brenton Road. Turn left and continue to 3-way stop and proceed to bottom of hill to right turn at entrance to Fort Adams State Park.
From CT, NY, NJ and points south:
Take Interstate Route 95 North to Rhode Island. Take Exit 3 in Wyoming and follow Route 138 East/North for approximately 15 miles until it intersects with US Route 1. Take a left onto US Route 1 North and follow Route 1 approximately 5 miles until there is a sign for Route 138 east. Follow Route 138 over the Jamestown - Verrazanno Bridge and continue over the Newport Bridge ($2 toll). Take first exit off of the bridge and take a right onto Farewell Street at the end of the exit ramp. To Fort Adams proceed south on Farewell Street approximately 1/4 mile to a fork in the road and take the right hand fork onto America's Cup Avenue. Get in the right hand lane. Proceed down America's Cup Avenue, you will pass the Marriott Hotel and Newport's waterfront on your right, until you see a statue of a wave with a pair of feet sticking out of it. Take a right onto Lower Thames Street. Proceed south on Thames Street approximately 1/2 mile until you see a Shell Station on your left and take a right onto Wellington Avenue. Follow Wellington Avenue to the next intersection and take a right. Follow the road to the next intersection and take a right. Proceed approx. 1/4 mile and look for two large black anchors on your right. This is the entrance to Fort Adams State Park.

BY BICYCLE: Ride your bike and reduce your carbon footprint! Bicycles are not allowed inside the festival grounds but can be locked in several areas of the park.
BY WATER SHUTTLE: The Water Ferry runs continuously from Old Port Dock on America’s Cup in the Mooring Restaurant parking lot and Fort Adams beginning at 7 AM. Cost is $10.00 round trip and no reservations are required.
BY BUS: There is bus service from downtown Newport to the festival site. Visit www.RIPTA.com for schedules.

General Admission on the LAWN in front of the Fort Stage is reserved for disabled patrons. This section is located in a roped off area in front of the sound board. This area is accessible by a paved road from the festival entrance. Because space is limited, each disabled patron is allowed one guest to accompany. Seating is not provided in this area so guests should bring blankets or low-backed lawn chairs.
Accessible parking is available in a
designated lot on the Festival grounds. The regular parking fee must be paid. When entering the Festival site, vehicles with patrons needing access to this lot must show their handicapped license plate or placard, or other state-issued identification. There will be a shuttle bus fitted with a wheelchair accessible lift to bring patrons from parking
lot to the Festival entrance, running from 9am until the end of the day. Violation of any ADA placard or license carries a fine of up to $500.

No glass containers admitted. All coolers will be searched.
No beach umbrellas or anything that could obstruct the view of others, except in specially marked areas at the back of the house

MiscellaneousFort Adams State Park is an outdoor venue surrounded by ocean on three sides. Music runs concurrently on three stages. The festival runs rain or shine.
All seating in the main stage area is general admission,uncovered, on the lawn. chairs are not provided. patrons may bring low-backed lawn chairs and beach blankets and secure their own seating on the lawn.
The other two stages are tented with some chair seatingavailable on a first-come, first-served basis.

Is there camping on-site?
Sorry, no camping is available at Fort Adams State Park but there are campgrounds not far from the festival grounds. Melville Ponds Campground in Portsmouth is 11 miles from the festival grounds and currently has spaces available. Call (401) 682-2424. Is there anything for children at the festival?
YES: Look for the KIDSFARE signs at food tents for vendors offering affordable kid's meals. There are also some activities for kids in the craft market.
For lost children: There is a Lost Child Station at the First Aid Tent. Locate the First Aid Tent at the end of the Museum of Yachting which is on your left as you round the corner to the festival seating area.
Is photographic or recording equipment permitted at the festival?
Hand held still cameras are permitted. Tripods are not advisable. Audio and video recording devices are NOT permitted.
General Admission: General Admission seating is first come, first served on the lawn. Patrons bring low-back lawn chairs and beach blankets.
