    Amazing event

by JamesChu on 4/6/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

The same racing way and the same exciting game without gas smelling compared with Toyota Grand Prix, which is a great game as well. Strongly recommend to buy paddock pass or pit lane walk, then you will have the change to meet drivers in that area.

    Ruined by technical difficulties

by Anonymous on 4/5/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

Great excitement and action at our first ePrix! The race is very short 43 minutes, and due to being our first race event, we relied upon the announcer to understand the race and any incidents that occurred. With roughly 15 minutes left a "No Signal" message appeared on the large monitors and we completely lost all sense of what was happening in the race. We lost the most critical portion, including a crash, lead change, and the overall race outcome. The entire technical crew should be fired. Highly recommend if a new technical crew is hired and watching from home may be advised.

    Unorganized to say the least.

by JamieTurtle on 4/5/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

This was my first year attending Formula E, though I have attended many other Formula events in the past. Perhaps my expectations were set too high due to my past experience with Formal Drift and Formula 1, but this event was mediocrely organized. There were next to no signs directing anyone to the entrance, so we asked a staff member for directions and he sent us in the complete opposite direction than the gate was. The race was great, but I would have liked to have know who won without looking it up seeing that I was there to witness it. They had been having audio/video problems throughout the race and then both went out all together in the last 15 minutes. There was no announcement of who won due to the mishap of audio/video. I was expecting more on the organization side. Maybe it will improve next year.

    Awesome event!

by Momo8820 on 4/5/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

The event was absolutely awesome, very organized and a friendly laid back crowd of people. Experiencing the cars in person is worth the price of admission and the activities there are fun as well. Basically, just go to it when it comes back!

    ePrix was forgettable

by noonyp on 4/5/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

It seems the promoters of this event forgot that the cars needed to be recharged between qualifying and the race. There was nothing to do or see between the events. The "virtual" race was inane. At least last year there were smaller competitions on the track during the lull.

    poor fan communication

by GoTesla on 4/5/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

FormulaE is great, but the Long Beach race experience is lacking. The video board for the grandstands on Shoreline Blvd. was function only about 20% of the time. How was this allowed to happen? The race announcers are not audible because music is playing over their voices. I understand the desire to play music, but turn it off when the announcers and commentators are talking. In the grandstand I sitting in, no one knew what was happening. The App provided no live assistance. Poor execution overall.

It's early - will be good in another year or so

by Frankness on 4/5/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

Starting with the race itself, big screen technical difficulties rendering screens blank for extended periods and no information about a long yellow flag left me scratching my head. As far as the rest of the events - really sad. A "Celebrity" eKart race with 5 entries that lasted 3 minutes and no one announced who the celebrities were. A "parade" event that lasted 6 minutes and consisting of 6 vehicles - another joke. An exhibit of the future of eVehicles consisting of the same 6 vehicles in the parade. Two broadcasters on a stage on the grounds jabbering to each other - comletely unintelligible for about 30 minutes. Even if you were at the stage where they were - still unintelligible. On the positive side - Great venue, perfect weather reasonable price a nice day out!

a great race on a great day

by ColinChapman on 4/5/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

I always wanted to see a race at Long Beach, and this was the perfect opportunity. A good race, perfect weather, paddock access, maybe a bit too much ado in the e-Village, but for those who don't fancy it, there are numerous other possibilities to spend the time between pratice and race (I went to the beach, the ticket allows you to leave the venue and come back again). I had the best place possible to sit (at the end od the straight, at the entrance of the chicane).

    Quiet Day in Long Beach

by CowboyNicksFan on 4/5/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

Way less impressive than last year's event. There was very little to see or do inbetween the track events. The only car vendor was BMW - they had the only cars you could actually buy. There was very little information on electric vehicles, chargers, or how you could actually make one of them work in your life. The race itself was pretty uninteresting - the large screens that would have let you see the interesting parts of the track - the turns, the hairpin, were not working so all you saw was cars driving quietly by the grandstands - with the excitement of the car change being the only variation during the whole race. The rule that the drivers have to wait a full minute between arriving in the pit and leaving in the new car is kinda pointless as well. Overall - there are more better events at which to spend a day with friends. They need to step it up for next year. The REAL Grand Prix will be a much better event.

A good start, which would benefit from more fans

by BarrettDB on 4/5/16Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach

The cars look good. The drivers are legit racing drivers. The cars are quick. They're also hilarious to watch if you haven't seen an electric racing car before. They're essentially life-size SLOT CARS with real drivers controlling them. All you really hear are the driveshafts and tires. There's no doubt this is the future, although I don't think fossil fuel racing will disappear next year or the year after. For the organizer: A single day is a great idea for the total event. I would propose that you do things to make the event faster paced. As examples - during qualifying, show more in-car on the large screens. In between groups, have electric pace cars (like the BMW i8 or the new Chevy Bolt) out on the circuit - in other words, try to nearly always have cars on the track. Give "electric" car rides to VIPs. Create a "celebrity race" using the Bold or i3 (you could fit it in), etc. I would also propose (and you could get manufacturers to participate) an electric vehicle showroom/village. Sure, there were a few manufactures there, but you could make it even stronger. For the fans: take your friends. Take your family. It's a single day of fun, it's affordable, and it might change your perception about the value of electric vehicles.
