    Get a Crazy Rock Fix

by LiliaF on 3/30/13House of Blues Houston - Houston

It had been way too long since my last live rock show, and this was beyond the hit I needed. Stars in Stereo was great enough to headline their own show. DP always brings it and tonight was no exception. I was happy before Flyleaf came out, and beyond that before the halfway mark. My only complaint is that I wanted it to be much longer. And that SIS's new CD isn't out until 4-9. Thanks to the guys at DP for signing my fav new t-shirt!

Drowning Pool rocked!! Flyleaf...not so much

by dhills23 on 3/23/13House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

The show started out with Stars In Stereo who put on a pretty solid set! I had never heard of them, but enjoyed the performance! Drowning Pool was next. They had a new singer, Jasen Moreno, and I was curious as to how he would fit in. He entered the stage with a "presence" and look that made you think he was an original band member!! The guy can throw it down!! Honestly, I don't own any Drowning Pool cd's, but after this show, I'm going to go back and buy the old stuff, and the upcoming new release!! Great set!!! Ok, so now I'm a little nervous about Flyleaf. Lacey's voice is so unique, so replacing her, to me, is a near impossible task! Kristen May is the new vocalist. Although she has a good voice, and she can pull off a few songs, it was disappointing to me. Her range just isn't there. She can't "scream," so any song verse that required one was either filled with silence, or Pat Seals trying to fill in. Not good. I won't be following Flyleaf anymore. Sad....

New singer is a good fit

by MarkfromIrvine on 3/23/13House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

I've been a fan of Flyleaf for years. I missed them last time they were out, and I was dissapointed when lead singer Lacey left the band right after their last album released. I knew that meant that I had missed my chance to see Lacey sing live. The conecert was better than I imagined it could have been. The new singer Kristen seems really comfortable with the Flyleaf material, and she sounds great. They played a great set consisting of their new songs and a lot of songs from the first album. I would have liked to hear a few songs from Momento Mori though.

    Fantastic!

by Crysea on 3/16/13The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

We were unable to get there in time to fully see the first opener ("Stars in Stereo") but the tiny bit we were able to catch was really good. Not a huge fan of Drowning Pool so only familar with a few of their songs. But they put on a good show, interact with the crowd, etc. Saw them many years ago in MN (with Seether) and their sound tech was off their game.. horrible. Whomever was in charge of their sound tech did a good job at the Fillmore. I'm sure many were/are concerned with the change of lead singer in Flyleaf. As a diehard fan of Flyleaf it was hard to see Lacy leave, and I was hesitant about Kristen. HOWEVER, she rocked the stage. As my friend pointed out Kristen seemed to interact with the crowd more and she did an awesome job!

The opening band stars in stereo were awesome. They were really personal and professional. Drowning Pool was a disgusting disappointment. They are both lyrically and musically untalented. Drowning Pool and Flyleaf playing together brings in a confusing group of fans. Drowning Pools singer kept making the satan symbol with his hands and his fans were adorned with the satanic star. Then fly leaf came out with a different message. I was there to see Flyleaf but lost respect for them due to them playing with Drowning Pool. We were hoping Flyleaf would play first so we could leave and not have to endure Drowning Pools awful performance. The entire show was disappointing. And me and the group of people around me looked absolutely miserable during drowning pools display of ignorance they out on.

Flyleaf & Drowning Pool, but also Stars in Stereo

by esurkj on 3/13/13House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

I went to this concert with my wife and 15 year old daughter. I went to see Drowning Pool, they went for Flyleaf. Fortunately, we arrived early enough to really enjoy Stars in Stereo because they really put on a great show. Drowning Pool got the crowd pumped up and the new singer in Flyleaf is even better than the original! Flyleaf had a very unusual set up with a lot of open space between the drummer and the rest of the band. They also had two steps set up where they would stand to perform and jump off. The open space was so they don't land on the drum set. Jason Moreno was a great replacement for the DP singers in the past. Energetic and doesn't change the sound of the band.

    All 3 bands were great!

by NM12 on 3/13/13House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Never heard of Stars in Stereo until the day of the concert. They put on a great show. I bought a cd and met the band. Very nice. Drowning Pool also put on a great performance. Was mainly there for Flyleaf which was another great performance. Kristen May (Lead singer) came down to the crowd. I loved her performance even though she isnt the original singer. Would definitely see these bands again. Totally worth seeing!
