Good costumes and music. Performers were top notch
Colorful, coordinated team, unique, interesting voices and music
The show was excellent. The staging was minimal, however, with the lighting the set was provocative and seductive. The dancing and the music were exquisite.
This group featured modern Flamenco, but as a lover of ALL things Spanish and having seen such great performers life as Jose Greco and Jose Antonio not to mention the gypsies in their true meleu in the caves of Andalusia, I cannot but shudder at what was done in this performance. This was pure bravado with no "animo". And basically mediocre ability. This performance lacked variety, and the whole presentation could be easily grouped into ONE. In addition, since this was presented in the US and possibly not everyone was familiar with true Flamenco, it would have been nice to present some of the basic and immortal Flamenco dances, and feature some castanets, beside the one dancer that performed with them ever so briefly. Also the lighting left much to be desired. Even though I was seated quite favorably, it was hard to distinguish the artists features. I was truly looking forward to the show and sadly left disappointed to say the least.
Amazing dancers and musicians, a must see performance.
Was expecting a larger dance group. Too much guitar playing - not enough dancing. Overall I was disappointed
There was little variation in the dance numbers except for the colors of the costumes. The music also did not vary. After the 1st one or two songs we felt that we had seen what was being offered and we left shortly after intermission. I would not recommend this performance.
The performances were amazing. The dancers were elegant and they performed flawlessly. The four musicians were incredibly talented and really added to the sensuality of the dancers. I never imagined being a Flaminco Dance fan but these professionals made a believer of me. The venu Chandler Center for the Arts was a perfect venu for this performance.
Great show, a must see! If you like dance then this is a show for you!
We had attended a Flamenco show in Sevilla Spain last year with a guide that explained everything that was going on and the history of the Dance. The Soul of Flamenco put everything that we learned together in a breath taking show. I was exhausted just watching them. The guitarists and vocal accompaniment was worth the price by itself. This is a must see if it returns to the area.
