    Unorganized, poorly staffed, and disappointing

by Anonymous on 5/21/15Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Albuquerque

The MC really kind of spoiled the event for me. It took him three tries to pronounce the word "jurisdiction", openly insulted contestants as they entered the stage (trying to be humorous), and then praised others. Very tasteless and tacky. The judges really blew it on one particular contestant. I don't remember his name but he was clearly one of the top athletes present in pretty much all categories. Unfortunately, his tan color was not typical and it was probably because of that reason that they completely overlooked and excluded him. That was a shame, just plain wrong. Lastly, there was a general lack of organization and communication with and among the people trying to make the presentation. Hats off to all the contestants, they were wonderful. Overall, it was disappointing and somewhat irritating.

    Too long; too much repetition

by JonniBGoode on 5/19/15Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Albuquerque

Although seats were "reserved", the first session was a free for all for seating. We were not informed of non-reserved seating for the morning session so we were surprised when the seats we had reserved were taken and no one would take responsibility for not informing us of this. Too many different categories with the same contestants in the same suits with the same lineup. Evening session tickets were once again reserved BUT now they had added 2 or 3 more rows to the front seating area and people with cameras and newly formed rows obstructed our view for the $65.00 tickets we bought to SEE the show. I realize it's hard losing a family member but having a drunk woman crying and carrying on onstage about her dead aunt and how she didn't try to help her aunt is not very becoming at all. Would be nice if the announcer (i.e. the female) could pronounce names and annunciate properly. I went to support a friend but won't do it again. I was done with this after 4.5 hours of watching what should have taken only 3 hours max to finish. Self promotion and delayed start of both sessions did not make this easy to sit through.

    Women's divisions need work

by Pwmj on 6/5/14Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Albuquerque

The women's divisions need work. Too long!! Heard same text over and over for women. Maybe they should be in no more than 1 or 2 events.

    Fitness New Mexico, 2014

by suzyann on 6/4/14Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Albuquerque

Not very impressed this year with Fitness New Mexico. The judging was a little suspect, Many of the awards/standings went to contestants that clearly did not look ready to compete! They were not poised on stage, couldn't walk or stand effortlessly in their heels. Not as toned as they should have been. Many well prepared ladies did not even place: yet, when compared to some that placed... they were toned, poised, and head and shoulders above the judges final picks. I respect the classification for "Masters" ( older competitors), but my advice would be, for the females, is to have costumes that cover their buttocks! Neither had toned glutes. This is not a "put down" ! I realize as people age, gravity can take its toll on the body and why show an area that just can't fight off the loose hanging baggy skin. It really takes away from all the hard work they put into conditioning. And it really looks bad when the are standing backside to the judges next to young firm women.

    Too long and expensive!

by Den505 on 6/3/14Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Albuquerque

Men and women finals should be separated. There were a lot of empty seats and had the event been more affordable I would have recommenwd more family to attend. If I did not have someone in the show to support I would not attend.
