Fillmore Flashback Tickets

We went to the 80's vs 90's party last night at the Fillmore and really enjoyed the show. The cover bands they had kept the audience entertained and the music they played was great! Bix Markie's first set between the two bands was spot on. He played a lot of music I had forgotten about and still loved. His closing set was pretty good but it was mostly hip-hop and R&B. That was fine but what he played wasn't really from either decade. Regardless, it was a lot of fun and I'd definitely go again! Some people even dressed up from the two decades and that made the experience even more enjoyable.

I have heard Biz Markie DJ in the past, but was extremely disappointed with this event. He didn't play any hip hop and r&b (which is surprising because that is his background). It was catered around old school pop, rock and heavy metal. The audience was mixed so I definitely understand him playing music that catered to everyone in the crowd, but he totally disregarded those that came to hear old school hip hop. I will not be attending this event again.

The 80's and 90's cover bands were both excellent, but Biz Markie didn't offer much other than playing 1 minute of a bunch of 80/90's hits from his iTunes collection. There was barely any rap played, which we wanted more of.

When we heard about the concert, we expected that Biz Markie would be performing the entire time. Unfortunately, a band was in the middle of his session and they were not playing music that most people wanted to dance to. Even when Biz Markie was on stage, it was disappointing. He played some good songs, but kept cutting them off about 1 minute into them. Overall, we were very disappointed and left after about an hour.

This was a fine evening out, but it WAS NOT as advertised. I was expecting to be able to DANCE since it was built as a dance party. But instead, I was greeted with a room full of people just standing and watching a "show." If you're going to call something a dance party, cut the number of ticket sales by a third, raise the prices by a few dollars and give those of us who would like to DANCE and have a good time teh room to move.

We had an absolute blast at this event. Biz Markie was the best DJ ever and the other bands were awesome. Would definitely do this again!

I was very excited for this event because I just wanted to dance and I love music from the 80s and 90s. I did dance and enjoyed that, but I don't think I could recommend this event because each song was played for only about 10-20 seconds before it was switched to something new. So when you got excited that one of your favorites was playing and you started singing the words, it would change to something else, and I would always be disappointed. But if you are ok with that, then you will probably have a lot of fun here. It was crowded on the main floor, but the upstairs had a lot more space, which was nice.
