Fanfare Ciocarlia Tickets

We go to a lot of concerts (50/ yr)... and I tell you this was an awesome show. No, I didn't stand up and dance the entire show out of respect to the people behind us. But I was certainly chair-dancing :). Did I know any of the music? No. What I knew, they didn't play. But it didn't matter. The energy of this group is infectious. Eugene & Serge played 3 songs with the group. Slight disappointment was not seeing the band/Eugene/Serge at the VIP afterparty after we schlepped all the way to Avenue A in the rain. Other attendees were VERY disappointed. We just figured the band was having too much fun in the green room to leave. This is only the second time that we've been to Town Hall, and kinda kicking ourselves for not going to see a show there sooner. The sound in the building is great and not a bad view in the house. It's also real easy to get to from NYP or PA.

Non-stop hugh energy, on your feet dancing throughout the whole show. Did not stop after the show, played in the venue isles, to the lobby and carried the dhow to the 43rd street. Amazing experience. Real Gypsies .

Fanfare Ciocarla brought an energy to the stage of Town Hall which I doubt has been matched by any other performance. Bassoons, trumpets, sax, clarinet, percussion hammered out song after song in Romany tradition, as well as some updated works. I was on my feet from start to finish. And speaking of finish....I thought it was over, but then, they were in back of the house playing in the aisle,mother in the lobby....then on 43rd street!!!! Added to the excitement was special guest performances with Eugene H. and Sergey R. Of Gogol Bordello. Killer show all the way around. When they return to NYC area, I'll be first in line.

FANfare was completely FANtastic. Can't wait to see them again.
