    Excellent show

by VT66 on 4/16/17Berks Jazz Fest - Reading

Excellent performance! These musicians poured out their hearts and souls for their friend George Duke - a very moving performance and the audience felt the spirit because I know my wife and I both did. I saw George perfom years ago and I wish I would have met him - my great loss. Thank you so much - SALUTE!

    Awesome Tribute!

by DJ3000 on 4/12/17Berks Jazz Fest - Reading

My sister and I were comfortable and had great seats. We assumed that each artist would perform separately on stage. When we realized that all of the artists would share the stage and interact with each other, it was even better. Everette and friends did a tribute to their mentor George Duke. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! George Duke was one of my favorite artists and to hear my favorites songs by him as well as from my favorite artists was just awesome!!!! We plan to make this an annual event!!!!

Everette Harp & Friends - a Tribute to George Duke

by jessej on 4/12/17Berks Jazz Fest - Reading

In 91 or 92 George Duke showcased Phil Perry, Chante Moore and Everette Harp as part of his Montreaux Jazz Festival performance. For the first time since then, all 3 came together to do a Tribute to George Duke. It was the music of George Duke as well as their music that was produced by George Duke. Interspersed through out the set were there persnal stories about George, including Brian Simpason and Brian Bromberg who also had played with George. memories were shared and a few tears flowed - both on the stage and in the audience. It was a very long set with an intermission, so long that the rented horn section had to leave to do another performance. Well done, i could have stayed and listened for another hour.

Outstanding !!! This ranks with the NBA all-star weekend, and the Masters golf tournament. The best jazz has to offer in one place at one time!

    Dynanic Combination

by Kingfish77 on 4/11/17Berks Jazz Fest - Reading

The combination of Everett Harp, Brian Simpson, and Brian Bomberg was terrific. Brian"s Havana Nights made me to rush out and purchase his CD " Full Circle". I was not to familiar with Everett previously but this multi-talented artist will be high on my radar from now on. And what can you say about Brian Simpson other than Fabulous. Chante Moore and Phil Perry provided the icing on the cake.
