About

Eve first appeared on the Bulworth soundtrack as EVE of destruction while signed to Dr Dre's Aftermath Entertainment she did not see much action with big releases soon coming from Dr Dre so she grouped up with DMX and the Ruff Ryders on her first single as a ruff ryder DJ Clue's The Professional, along with other Ruff Ryders' compilations.

Her next single, "What Ya Want", featuring Nokio the N-Tity of Dru Hill, became a top 40 hit on the U.S. Billboard 200 peaking at 29. Her 1999 debut, Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady, was an unprecedented success, becoming the first rap album by a woman to enter the Billboard 200 at number one.

The follow-up to Ruff Ryders' First Lady, Scorpion, was released in 2001. Its first single, "Who's That Girl" guaranteed the rapper first international success. The second single, "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" (with Gwen Stefani of No Doubt and produced by Dr. Dre co-written by then-boyfriend Stevie J.), became a pop success, peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The song won a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and Eve eventually went platinum.

Eve's third album, Eve-Olution, was released in summer 2002 (see 2002 in music) and peaked at number six on the Billboard 200. In the meantime, the album's first single, "Gangsta Lovin'", with Alicia Keys, became another number two hit. The second and final single, "Satisfaction", only saw moderate success again.

In 2005, the rapper appeared on Gwen Stefani's cover version of Louchie Lou & Michie One song "Rich Girl", which peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 in March. The same year, she appeared on the remix of Amerie's number one U.S. R&B hit, "1 Thing" the Hitch soundtrack. Eve also was featured in Keyshia Cole's song "Never" as on the Barbershop 2: Back in Business soundtrack and The Way It Is along with the official remix for Teairra Mari's second single, "No Daddy".

In 2007, she appeared on Kelly Rowland's single "Like This". The Punk Cabaret band One On None covered Eve's 1999 song "Love Is Blind". In July 2007, Eve made a guest appearance on Maroon 5's second single Wake Up Call on Live @ 45th at Night, it is unknown if this will be an official remix or if it will even be recorded. In late 2008, she sung the song "Set It On Fire", which was featured on the credits for the movieTransporter 3 and is available on the Transporter 3 soundtrack.

In late 2010 Eve was the featured rapper on Australian singer Guy Sebastian's single "Who's That Girl", which has reached number one on the ARIA Singles Chart, and achieved platinum certification. It is Eve's first number one single in Australia.
Eve began work on a new album title Here I Am. In May 2007, XXL magazine profiled six recorded tracks from Here I Am. Five of them were produced by Swizz Beatz, including singles "Tambourine" and "Give It To You" (featuring Sean Paul). Pharrell Williams produced "All Night Long". In contrast to most of the tracks, Eve sings rather than raps on "All Night Long". XXL published a review of the original Here I Am in July, rating it an L in its "shoe size" rating system ranging from S to XXL. However the album ran into a series of delays due to corporate change at the record label and discontent with the lackluster success of the first and second singles, "Tambourine", released in April 2007, and "Give It to You" (featuring Sean Paul), released later. She recently appeared on Ludacris' new album Battle Of The Sexes in the remix of "My Chick Bad" with fellow female rappers Trina and Diamond. Recently on the Hennessy Artistry Tour, Eve stated that the album will be released March 2011 via EMI. In April 2011, Eve featured in Timati's new song and video "Money in the Bank". As Eve has featured in many singles in 2011, it has raised speculation that she is releasing Lip Lock in 2011.

    Intimate concert

by daisy123 on 9/16/13Gramercy Theatre - New York

Eve was great! She performed all her hits and brought out a surprise guest. The setting wasn't a large venue so it allowed for a greater connection to the crowd.

    ehhh........

by LynFromTheD on 5/27/10Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Juvenile and Jadakiss was on just too long! DJ Quick & Mystikal were great and Eve & Too Short wasn't on long enough (I think this was because of Juve & Jada overstayed their welcome). Overall, I would go again if the concert ticket was free.

    Street Cred Tour Featuring Eve

by streetcred on 5/24/10Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

I have one word for this concert...CRAP! Thank God for DJ Quick. Why did Quick open the show? He was one of the best. Jada Kiss should have open the show...his performance was boring. So was Eve. Thank Goodness she didn't perform long. She should have gone on first the Jada. Too Short performance was CRAP! He came on stage drunk for like only 20 minutes to perform...He did about four songs....I am getting sick and tired of these unorganized unprofessional hip hop concerts. Hip Hop for life but I am ready to through my towel in. Juve and Mistkal were good.

Street Cred Tour was a bust!!!

by TfromTheD on 5/23/10Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Hello anyone reading this, I am not rating this show poor because I am disgruntled about the price, seats, etc... I am a HUGE Eve fan... I have purchased tickets to see Eve every time she has come to Detroit, except for once. I have seen Eve perform six times before this show. I only purchsed tickets to this show because Eve was on the show. Originally, Eve was not on the show; the show was featuring Lil Kim' and Foxy Brown...then Lil' Kim was replaced by Eve (and that is when I bought my ticket). Eventually I was told that Foxy Brown could not perform due to unforseen circumstances and that I had the opportunity to get a refund up until show time. I choose to decline the refund because I really only wanted to see Eve anyway. Eve came out and did ONLY 5 songs (but she did only 3 of the songs in full). This is why I rated the show poor. I believe that if the commercial states "Featuring Eve" I expect that to mean she is the headliner...A headliner NEVER does only 5 songs. I expected more of a performance from Eve...and I feel that was not unreasonable because I have never seen her do such a short set in the past (again I have seen her perform 6 times prior to this show). Juvenile, Mystical, and Jada Kiss (who came before her on the show) did a longer set than Eve. Had I known that she would do such a short set....I would have gotten the refund and skipped out on the show, because I was not interested in anyone else on the show....and I felt like I had not gotten my monies worth from her performance.
