    Breathtakingly Extrodinary Must See Concert!!!!

by Laurizzle7 on 3/5/17St. Ignatius Loyola - New York

Wow. I went to St. Ignatius Loyola‎ to see Eric Whitacre play today. I'm blown away... I've been following his career for about 8 years now and have been waiting patiently for him to make an appearance on the East Coast. He opened up the concert with Lux Aurumque and the audience went mad afterward. The choir who performs with him is spectacular. They all have heavenly voices. While you're sitting there listening to the music you are completely taken away from reality and transported into a different world. Listening to their voices in a church only added to the experience, when you're eyes wander away from the choir all you see are beautiful statues, captivating art, and inspiring glass windows. This is an experience of a lifetime. I was overcome with emotions from the raw feeling the choir projects. I highly recommend this concert for anyone who likes classical choir music. This was above and beyond.

    I wasn't expecting a High school choir

by deesingspraise on 5/4/11Shrine Auditorium - Los Angeles

When I bought the tickets there was no real information on what this concert would be, but I had an idea based on the title that this would feature one of my favorite choral composers. I assumed that it would probably be an adult choir, a local Master Chorale or something and since it was at the Shrine, I thought there would be a classy bunch of people there. Instead it was the results being announced of the winners of a high school festival competition that had been going on prior and then the choirs combined to perform some of Eric's songs. The sound was really shoddy as there were no microphones on the singers at all. Perhaps that was a good thing due to the fact that High schoolers can't do Eric's music real justice. The majority of the audience were either the HS kids themselves or their parents. I drove 3 hours to L.A. for this?

The performance was so amazing. Loved being able to see the man who has written so much of the music that I have heard choirs perform. So rewarding.
