Was excited about this show. My kids love Eric carle. We drove 1 hr and a half for a 20 minute show. myb4 year old loved it.
My son is almost 3 and I was concerned that he wouldn't sit still through this performance but he was captivated! It was very well done. It moved quickly enough and wasn't too long
The show was very well done and my Granddaughters, ages 3 & 6, thoroughly loved it. The "this is a non-shushing show" was perfect for a theater full of kids. The 6 year old, who wants to know everything, wanted a longer Q&A. Well done!
Suprised my 5 yr old was not into it. Asked me few times when is it over. Think its more for 5 and under. And my son loves books and reads all these books def overpriced expected more.
We loved it. The troupe is so creative and exciting. Both of my kids (5 and 1) loved it and were mesmerized. The best part was rule that there be no shushing. The kids cheered and called out the animals they recognized and the answers to questions. So creative!
My grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance! It was well presented and held the children's attention throughout. The only issue I had was the constant chatter of the school children. We were told before the performance that it was a non-shushing show, but the constant talking of the school children definitely took away from the presentation. It was difficult to hear the narration, which was important in understanding each story. I'm sure teachers read the books to their classes before attending, but some children may have forgotten what was read or possibly we're absent when the books we're read. I had only read "The Hungrey Caterpillar to my 2 year old grandson, so I was wanting him to hear the other stories.
If you haven't taken your favorite child to see Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, put it at the top of your "bucket list." Classic children's literature comes alive through the movement the puppets portray. Vibrant sets are a bath for your eyes. The fluidity of the puppeteers' skills and the delightful musical score create a dance-like experience and forever memories.
It was brilliant and true to Eric Carle's stories. The three children were captivated and we, the adults, enjoyed it too.
This was one of the best children's literature productions that our family had seen.
Great show. Perfect amount of time for little ones.
