Emin In Concert
Few singers have made quite as prominent a splash on the world political stage as Emin. The Azerbaijani vocalist has carved out an impressive musical career while also holding down a day job as Vice President of Crocus Group, the company owned by his father, billionaire real estate tycoon Aras Agalarov.
Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, in 1979, Emin Arasovich Agalarov attended high school in New Jersey, where his passion for music emerged. He studied singing with Azerbaijani star and role model Muslim Magomayev, known as the "Soviet Sinatra."
In 2006, Emin released his debut album Still, the first of six English-language albums — Incredible, Obsession, Devotion, Wonder, and After the Thunder followed. Emin displayed an increasingly sophisticated knack for romantic balladry and smooth pop stylings with cosmopolitan flair, and he has been called the "Russian Ricky Martin." After mastering the art of making audiences swoon in English, Emin turned his attention to Russian, releasing his first album in that language to great success in 2013.
Emin has worked with some of the music industry's biggest names. Chic frontman Nile Rogers appeared on Emin's 2015 tribute to Robin Thicke, "Boomerang," and Canadian multi-talent David Foster played piano for the PBS special Emin: Love From Russia. His 2016 album Love Is a Deadly Game affirmed Emin's deep affection for standards with versions of classic international hits like "Mack the Knife" and "If You Go Away."
