    Poor Timing

by Zertorellos on 12/19/13Paradise Rock Club - Boston

So, I was taking my brother out for his 26th birthday to mainly see TBM, so the event was starting at 7pm with the thought that Emilie Autumn was playing first so, we took our getting to Boston, MA finding a place to park, then taking the time to find where they were playing at. Well unfortunately we waited for 2 hours of what we thought was going to be TBM playing. So we saw Emilie Autumn, and my brother and I were not really liking their music. So we decided to go to the bar next store for a drink, while we were waiting of Emilie to get done; so we could see the main event. Well that's what we thought anyway, after we got back, we saw stage guys packing up, and after going up and asking. After they told me that TBM already played, I was very heated. I thought from reading "Emilie Autumn / The Birthday Massacre" that the Emilie band was playing first at 7pm, then TBM at 8pm from what I was reading from Ticketmaster. I was ready to give my brother one of the greatest presents of all. Getting him to see TBM Apparently that didn't happen like we wanted it to.

Pass on Emilie this time around...

by beecee91 on 12/2/13Paradise Rock Club - Boston

I was so excited for this show! I left quite disappointed, however. I thought she would have an incredible band with her, but she didn't. She had two backup singers with her this time around and they sang along to backing tracks primarily from the "Fight Like a Girl" album. Actually, I couldn't tell if the backup singers were singing or lipsyncing. The backing tracks sounds like they were under water. Emilie sounded good (for a glorified karaoke concert). I still love her though and will probably give her another chance. This time around was such a bummer though...

    Fun times!

Both performers were great. I love The Birthday Massacre, and Emilie Autumn and Veronica Varlow gave us some exquisite performances.

    The Birthday Massacre was awesome!

by AdvisoryBored21 on 11/30/13Irving Plaza Powered By Klipsch Audio - New York

The Birthday Massacre opened the show and was awesome! But then Emilie Autumn killed the mood. She is horrible. Overly dramatic. Showy. Fake. And a voice that's meant for off off broadway theater, not a concert. She's a cheap knock off of Lady Gaga. Birthday Massacre should have played the whole night and Emilie Autumn should have been just a spectator!

Even when not understandable - still unforgettable

by TheOriginalBoondock on 11/30/13Irving Plaza Powered By Klipsch Audio - New York

I have been a fan of The Birthday Massacre for a while, and was really happy to see them live finally - they played a very tight set. You could tell this was not the first go 'round for them. They sounded really great. I knew less about Emilie going into the show, probably having heard only 10 songs from her ever. It did not matter, as she does not play a traditional concert anyway. It honestly felt more like a variety burlesque musical than a concert, which I loved. Even when I didn't know the songs, it was a spectacle to watch. Would totally recommend it for people open to new experiences and who like watching crazy shows.

Emilie Autumn's show is more of a musical than a concert. An autobiographical performance describing her experience as an inmate at a mental institution told with beautiful, rhythmic music and dancing. A very unique and worthwhile experience.

    Emilie Autumn is the best

by jamie3339 on 11/29/13Paradise Rock Club - Boston

The show was great. We love Emilie Autumn. This is the third time we've seen her in Boston. This time we went with a group of friends. The other venue was better.

    I WAS a big fan

by Kharizmah on 4/2/13GlassHouse - Pamona

Same as you've heard some others say. I'm pretty sure she was singing over a pre-recorded disc. Lots of skits. But the killer was her arrogance in making us wait 1 and 30 minutes before making her appearance on stage!!

Don't have to be her target audience to enjoy

by Kathoskrino on 1/23/13Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

This was my first show and my expectations were low. The tickets were dirt cheap so I figured it would be low quality. I only went because my girlfriend absolutely adores emilie autumn. I had little interest in watching it since frankly the songs are not targeted at heterosexual males. We arrived at the show two hours early only to be horrified at the venue. The neighborhood was horrible. We stayed in the car until the show started. The show started almost an hour late but it was nice. The stage was cute, the costumes were surreal, and the girls' enthusiasm was overthetop. I felt bad since I know there were several parts of the show that seemed like they were expecting crowd participation and it was subtle but I knew they were disappointed. Also I know my girlfriend was a little heartbroken that emilie lost her voice prior to the show a long of songs were subpar compared to her usual singing. I personally was entertained throughout the entire show. She doesn't play instruments and I thank her for that. I think I would have been bored to tears if it was just her singing about getting her revenge against forty nine percent of the population. She has catchy songs and puts an amazing performance. I was somewhat uncomfortable with the homosexual activities because they seemed forced. Anything forced, gay, straight, and everything in between, makes me uncomfortable. TL;DR great show,'even if you're a straight guy, amazing performance, nice music, poor venue and lose of voice stole her a star.
