    great title

    by bubs55 on 1/6/16Apollo Theater - Chicago

What we were looking for was something funny. I think there were two laughs during the whole play. the ballerinas were too tame to be dragons, not believable, and the mc just talked and talked. The dog was probably the best part of the play. We took our 5 grand children and they sat kind of bored. It was kind of the same thing over and over again. What they needed to do was get audience participation to break up the monatany and get kids involved. All my grand children had read the book so they were looking forward to the play.

    Entertaining

    by JAR41 on 12/29/15Apollo Theater - Chicago

Was entertaining for young children; more interaction with the children would have engaged them more and less talking/lecturing by only one character got tiring.

    Dragons Love Tacos was great

    by sluh64 on 12/1/15Apollo Theater - Chicago

Loads of fun. Very professionally done. Adults enjoyed well enough, but kids were delighted. It was so much fun to be in an audience of kids shouting out answers and knowing what was next. They had a "super blast!"

    Great production for young children

by ChicagoChildrensHouse on 11/22/15Apollo Theater - Chicago

We took a small group from our preschool and the children loved it. The theater is a nice size. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was well organized. The production was age appropriate and colorful.

Took the "Littles" (granddaughters age 4 and 5) to the show.. they were drawn in and enjoyed every bit of the show. They got to dance with the cast and dragons at the end of it.. 5 stars for sure.....

    Excellent and Fun Show!

by OurFabFam on 11/8/15Apollo Theater - Chicago

Dragons Love Tacos was an amazing chidren's theatre production. We took our children- ages 1-4 yrs to see it. All of them were very entertained and are still talking about it days later! The dancing in it is really pretty, and the dog character is very funny for chidren. The narrator keeps the show funny for adults. We all want to go again! Thank you, Emerald City, for another fantastic show! One thing that I really appreciate about Emerald City is how welcoming they are to children of all ages. They do their best to accomodate our entire family. Thank you!

    The book is better

by Chicagomon on 10/27/15Apollo Theater - Chicago

I am usually very impressed with emerald city theater productions but I was disappointed in this play. There was a lot of dialog that didn't follow the book and was very wordy which made it hard for my 4 year old to follow. he was very excited about seeing dragons and was disappointed that there was so much dancing and not very elaborate costumes. The play lost his interest very shortly into it and then never got it back even though I tried to coach him into being excited about it. He loves the book but had trouble focusing with all the dancing and not a lot of action. The only thing that he loved was when the house was "on fire" because it was a lot of action. I appreciate what they tried to do but it just fell flat for the kids I was with.
