We really enjoyed the play and would reccomend it.
Me and my wife had a great time, we really enjoy it. We are going to make this a regular routine for us.
Compared to Heather Hedley in the original score the understudy lead did a great job as Aida - stole the show for sure. Radames vocals seemed like they could use more. Not a bad seat in the house at Drury Lane Theatre...will most likely will see another show at the venue.
Weak Material, Poorly Directed! Leads lacked checmistry.
This play was just there. There was nothing bad about it and nothing good about it. Two of the three leads didn't always hit their notes. There were not songs of routines that you went "wow" over. I will definitely NOT spend my money to see this again and wish I read some reviews before I went.'
Very enjoyable! Not the Disney production, but overall very well done. Great voices!
It was the same great show I saw on Broadway but MINUS the spectacular costumes, awe inspiring vocals and creative scene/stage changes. I love the story line, very much a Romeo and Juliet set in ancient Egypt. However I must admit I was expecting the same calibur show as I saw in New York and Chicago and was very disappointed when it wasn't. I should have guessed there would be cut backs when I saw the ticket pricing. If you haven't seen it before then you'll be pleasantly surprised, but if you get the opportunity to see it on Broadway then don't hesitate! It was my favorite show (on broadway).
Expecting a mediocre show, I was surprised with Aida. The story among lovers was enchanting and the singing was just wonderful. Additionally, the show was not too long, which was convenient.
On average the show is enjoyable. I was really disappointed by the acting which isn't really up to the level you might expect, to me it sounded more like ranting than acting. The music is good and the singing was a little weak compared to the level of the music (sometime it was really hard to understand the words of the songs). The costumes were good. And the dancing was just great (choreography is wonderful and the dancers are really good). When everything is added it comes out as an average but enjoyable show.
