Eifman is a perennial favorite of ours, and he has outdone himself with this production. The portrayal of psychotherapeutic treatment without words, using only movements, was masterful!
Over the years, I have made a point of going to the Eifman ballet when they are in town. They are an exceptional, creative, magnificent dance company which shouldn't be missed by anyone interested in other than classical ballet. This story was compelling, the skill of the leads remarkable, the music gorgeous, the costuming either bleak or colorful as matched the mood of the characters. We went with another couple and all of us loved it. I do wish though that there had been a live orchestra!
I am not a "ballet guy" by any stretch of the imagination. Usually I need to keep reading the synopsis in the program to "get" what's going on. But not this time... At the intermission, my wife handed me the program, expecting my usual, and I said "Don't need it!" The show was so good I could -- for probably the first time -- follow the story and was really in to it! Highly recommended.
It was real exellent ballet and in the same moment dramatic theatre performance of the highest level. I wondered how it could be possible to tell this specific story using ballet language. But it turned that Eifman can do it. I try not miss any possibility to go to his performance - and recommend to do so to everyone who loves high professional art.
The most creative choreography and multi-talented performers I have ever seen! If you ever have a chance to see an Eifman ballet its a must!!!
This performance was a frat demonstration of a modern dance. I felt it was not a classic performance

A thoroughly enjoyable performance - - one which I would like to see again. The choreography was so creative, and the story compelling and unique. With music by Schubert and Gershwin - "S' Wonderful"!!

While pieces were interesting the overall program was repetitive and rather boring.
