ECCW Wrestling Live
The ECCW, or Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling, has been a proving ground (read: stomping ground) for some of Canada's greatest fighters.
Starting in 1996 with shows promoted by "Gorgeous" Michelle Starr and Terry Joe Silverspoon, the Vancouver, B.C.-based organization initially held events only on Vancouver Island, but eventually branched out to other districts. The first champion of the circuit was The Bodyguard, with the crown later being taken by the likes of "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, John Rambo, Michelle Starr, and Mike Roselli. In 1997, Dave Republic took control of the ECCW and joined the National Wrestling Alliance, which created a schism, with half the wrestlers going with Republic and the other half leaving and joining Starr because they didn't like larger-organization wrestling. Soon, the ECCW was doing up to 15 shows a month; its talent pool grew, including brawlers like Tony Kozina, El Antorcha, "Rocket" Randy Tyler, and Doby Gillis. During these years, Extreme Championship Wrestling was becoming popular in the U.S. and the "Attitude Era" of the WCW was rising (with wrestlers like Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock becoming stars), so the ECCW followed suit, with some matches featuring chairs, tables, and even barbed wire. In 2005, the ECCW absorbed Top Ranked Wrestling, which included its TV program on KVOS. Starting with a "Season's Beatings" episode, they ran regular tapings for a few years, but the network ultimately stopped running the show.
In 2010, Dave Republic sold the company to Scotty Mac, Marty Diaz, and The Natural, who eventually changed its title to Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling, unveiling a new belt and events. The company would soar to international success with the rise of wrestlers like Tyson Kidd, Tenille Tayla, Kyle O'Reilly, The Bollywood Boyz, and KC Spinelli.

Best atmosphere I've ever seen for an indy wrestling show!!
