A briliant performance
by max2 on 8/10/14Chan Centre for the Performing Arts - VancouverLast Thursday's rendering of this rarely-performed early oratorio from Handel's "Italian period" was brilliant. The singers were all on top form; Reginald Mobley's tender and smooth yet powerful counter-tenor was especially striking. The orchestral playing was always authoritative and crisp, and the orchestra and vocalists were in perfect balance. All in all, this was a memorable evening. I hope EMV records this work on CD.
