About

EELS Concert Schedule and Tour

With their highly anticipated 11th studio album hitting shelves in 2014, Eels continue to carry the torch for funny yet emotional alternative rock. Packed with clever wordplay and eloquent observations about the comedy of life, songs like "Novocaine for the Soul" and "Your Lucky Day in Hell" garnered the band a serious cult following in the '90s, and nearly 20 years later they've lost none of their incisive wit. True to form, Eels' 2013 shows featured several encore fake outs that saw them repeatedly return to the stage after the crew had begun to breakdown, with all signs pointing to more shenanigans on their 2014 world tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed by singer-songwriter Mark Oliver Everett, a.k.a. "E," in 1995, Eels' 1996 debut album Beautiful Freak was a surprise hit, making its way on to the Billboard 200 with catchy alt-rock singles like "Novocaine for the Soul" and "Susan's House." The band's overnight success landed them on tour with the likes of Pulp and Fiona Apple, paving the way for a string of acclaimed albums in the '00s. Following the 2013 release of their tenth studio album Wonderful, Glorious,  the band surprised fans with the announcement of another new album in 2014, coinciding with a summer world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

I can't speak highly enough about the Eels. They're showmanship and ability to put new spins on an impressive discography is a delight. I'll see them every time their in town, and I'm just glad they made it back (eventually).

    Worth the Wait!

by Andy Yauchler on 6/28/23Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

Finally caught The Eels live after loving the music my whole adult life! And despite COVID trying to stop us, it was absolutely worth the wait! E and the band were on point - 100% effort with hooks, riffs, and jokes aplenty. And the experience was enriched by the venue - it was our first time at the amazing Paradise Rock Club (reminded us of the 9:30 Club in Washington, where we missed The Eels back in the early aughts). The music and lyrics have always had a direct pipeline to my brain & soul, but watching from our perch just up the stairs was transcendent. Don't know if I'll get to see them again, but this concert will definitely stay lodged in my memory forever!

    Gloomy, fun filled dance party

by Amy, the girl with a daisy in her hair on 6/28/23Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

Super fun venue, except there were some very large pillars that you had to work your way around. We got stuck behind them, but then realized there was a lot of dancing room there so we enjoyed being the pillar people for a while. The band talks to the crowd a lot, which is super fun, and we really felt like we were bonding with them which is what I think everybody wants to do with their musical identifiers. The drummer was incredible, Petit Joe! He even reached over and gave us his drumsticks after the show was over, because we were so blown away by his performance, and we let him know it. Mr. E’s voice is rock solid, sounds perfect. They were a lot of fun, and I will totally buy tickets to see them again.

    Always a great experience!

by MusicLover on 6/28/23Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

Eels always put on an amazing show. Every tour has a different ‘theme’ so you never quite know what to expect. This time around they played a lot of new material, but also threw some old time favorites in there. I will always go to see them when they come around!

    by B on 6/22/23Liberty Hall - Lawrence

E and the boys put on a wonderful show with song selections from the extensive Eels catalog. Band was tight Little Joe was impressive. Stage and lightning complimented the performers. We drove over 200 miles to see the show and I would do it again. With a 30 song set list you definitely gets your moneys worth of music. Thanks B
