About

DUNCAN SHEIK IN CONCERT:

Singer-songwriter Duncan Sheik first rose to fame in the '90s with his chart-topping contemporary pop hit "Barely Breathing." He went on to prove he's the real deal with a series of acclaimed albums, a successful Broadway career, and a reputation for must-see live shows. Whether he's performing solo or backed by a full bands, Sheik has a way of making his audiences feel like they're attending an intimate living room show with stripped-down versions of his classics. Back on the road, Sheik will treat concertgoers to fan-favorites such as "I'm on a High" and '80s covers like Haddaway's "What Is Love?" on his latest tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

New Jersey native Duncan Sheik achieved mainstream success with his 1996 self-titled debut which featured the hit "Barely Breathing," his popular tune that held a record-breaking spot in the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 55 straight weeks. In addition to creating six more successful albums, Sheik has lent his talent as a composer to Broadway musicals -- he's scored adaptations of Because of Winn Dixie and American Psycho and earned a Grammy and two Tony Awards for his work on the acclaimed show Spring Awakening. Back on the road, Sheik returns to his roots as a musician and performer for a number of highly anticipated tour dates ticket buyers won't want to miss.

    fantastic

by misterburns on 11/11/15Saban Theatre - Beverly Hills

A really intimate, great show from Duncan and Suzanne. Duncan came out first and played for about an hour. Just him, a drummer and a key on piano/keys. Sang a few of his older songs, and some from Spring Awakening and a few from a new musical. He sounded amazing and the other musicians did too. Duncan talked to the crowd a lot and the whole thing was very easy going. Suzanne played for about an hour as well and did a few songs from her first album and some ones from a musical she's working on. The guitarist she had with her was crazy talented.. Yes Suzanne played Luka.. They both came back out after Suzanne finished and did Barely Breathing and Tom's Diner. All in all, a really nice relaxing concert with superb music and great singers.

Disappointed, wrong info from Saban Theater

by DrDrew3 on 11/10/15Saban Theatre - Beverly Hills

We called Saban Theater to ask when Duncan was starting his set. We were told Vega was opening at 8pm for 1 hour, then Sheik closing. So we show up at 8:35 only to find Duncan 30 minutes into his set...what a disappointment as we drove 6 hours to see him. thanks a ton Saban for the bad info, but at least we got to hear Distant Lovers, Birmingham (ROLL TIDE!), and a few others.

Duncan Sheik was way too SHORT!

    by Mo91 on 11/27/12Birchmere - Alexandria

I loved what he DID sing, but he only played for a little over an HOUR. It took me longer to drive there and back than it did him to sing. I love him, and I was very disappointed to not hear more Duncan. I am not sure if it because the place was only half-filled...?
