DUAL DUEL LIVE:

Chicago’s ComedySportz Theatre takes their hilarious improv competitions to a new extreme by pitting tandems of talented comedians against each other in Dual Duel. Every Wednesday from 8-10 pm, audiences can watch funny duos try to knock off their competitors in this no-holds-barred improv tournament to prove comedic supremacy. The hilarious actors take a series of suggestions from the audience before concocting an entirely outlandish series of stories that becomes progressively more uproarious as the night wears on. From a pool of 36 teams, the matchups become increasingly more sidesplitting week after week until only two remain for the climactic final.  Regardless of which team comes out on top, ticket buyers are the true winners at every event, as they watch the jokes fly for two hours before selecting the victor. For audiences looking for a thrilling showdown between Chicago improv heavyweights, Dual Duel delivers the explosive comedy goods.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

From its humble Milwaukee origins in 1984, ComedySportz has grown to become one of the preeminent destinations for improvised comedy across the nation. Comedic talent was limited

by griffeysue on 5/1/12ComedySportz - Chicago

There seems to be no vetting process in choosing the improv teams that are on stage for the dual duel. There were some funny moments, but overall it was disappointing. Plus it seemed that most of the duos had planned routines, the use of improv was limited at best.
