Dracula: A Rock Opera = quite an experience
by FangsfortheMemories on 11/2/10Meadow Brook Theatre - Rochester HillsThe play was an interesting time. I came into the theater with very little expectations as to the quality of the show. In truth, from the moment the play began, I was blown away! The actors' musical ability astounded me, and while their acting sometimes left something to be desired, overall, they impressed me greatly. There were a few moments of sheer camp, and (although he was a great singer) I do not understand the casting choice of the young man who played Dracula. The stage set up was also interesting and (in my opinion) innovative. It was set up in a sort of "theater in the round" way, where part of the stage rotated on a track, bringing in new props and scenery when the scene changed. Overall, I would recommend this play, as long as patrons don't try to take it too seriously.
