DOYLE IN CONCERT:
Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein (or Doyle for short) is a menacing presence on stage to say the least. With his signature devilock hair style, skeleton face makeup, Frankenstein-bolt choker necklace, and shirtless body-builder’s physique, he’s like a horror villain come to life. Doyle stomps around stage like a savage beast, pummeling his guitar and his audience’s eardrums in equal measure. Fans of thrash punk and heavy metal will be familiar with Doyle’s style from his work in The Misfits, as well as his stints supporting former Missfits frontman Glenn Danzig. Now helming his own solo project with metal notables Dr. C.H.U.D. (The Misfits) and Alex Wolfman Story (Cancerslug), Doyle is ready to bring his horror show antics to the masses.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Originally a roadie for The Misfits, Doyle was taught to play guitar by his brother/bassist Jerry Only and singer Glenn Danzig. When guitarist Bobby Steele didn’t show up for a recording session, Doyle stepped up to replace him permanently. The band soon made hardcore punk history, releasing a string of albums and EPs that helped develop the horror punk genre. After releasing albums with Kryst the Conqueror and Gorgeous Frankenstein, Doyle finally began his solo project in earnest with the album Abominator (2013). In addition to his musical endeavors Doyle is an active bodybuilder, often working out with his wife Alissa White-Gluz -- frontwoman of death metal band Arch Enemy.

The sound in that theater is great and the tone this band has is awesome hope to go see them again soon
I have seen Doyle a few times and he has been much better then tonight. Maybe it was the very low turnout of less then 100 people. The venue is pretty big and they had a black curtain that blocked off about 1/3 of it. He was good, but I have seen him be better. It can not be easy to play at 100% when you are in a big room with a small crowd. The support bands were pretty good, however I was not impressed with Suicide Puppets. They were direct support and were not very good.I would skip them next time. One of the other support bands were a group of teens (Generation Underground) and they came to the show without a drummer, bass player and a substitute guitarist. I have to give them credit because they said they drove over 100 miles from NJ and still showed up and did a good job even though they were missing several members. The ticket price was only $14 so it was worth coming out to see Doyle.
Holy smokes! That was awsome. Sound for opening bands wasn't good. Davie suicide saw improvement ( and they had a hell of a production)
Doyle has some great songs and the show was good. But, there was not a single misfits song played. I understand he wants to forge his own path, but two years ago there were a few thrown in.
For those that missed this music legend - it is your loss. This show was great and you should make every effort to catch Doyle (or Misfits) when and wherever you can. This is history and it's lots of good new music. Energy was up even though the Atlanta crowd count could have been higher (what's wrong with Atlanta?) Venue was hot as usual and bathrooms reminiscent of CBGBs but what do you expect from the Masquerade? Opening bands were great with a wonderful surprise showing of Casket Creatures! They rocked the most among the opening bands! https://instagram.com/p/BU6xRwDg6BH/
The opportunity to see Doyle perform in such an intimate venue was incredible! The band performed songs off of the Abominator album but also song classic Misfits songs. Overall it was a great show!
