We were blown away with the complete show. They all sounded just like the did years ago. We will definitely go again. worth every penny we spent. We saw the Coasters, Difters, Shirrels and Sonny either the Platters.
Had a great time this year as I did last year. I would love to see more like it!
Even thought this music was before I was born, I loved the concert! Great harmonies, showmanship, etc.
A friend even came from AL at THIS TIME so she could go along to this event and we ALL LOVED IT. Sang along and moved and grooved to the music. The Groups were all fantastic!!!! Can't wait for next year's event. Wish it was more often than 'once' a year!
The groups selected for this show were well picked to bring enjoyment throughout the entire program.
The Vogues lead singer was just awful. it was the 3rd time in 18 months that I have seen this group. One excuse was that he was not feeling well. Well, he obviously hasn't been feeling well for awhile now. Time to bring in a new lead singer. There is still 1 backup man that is original and has a great voice. Also, Jay Siegal & the Tokens with Jay Traynor the original lead singer of Jay & The Americans, they stole the show. Yeh, I'm getting old, but I want something decent for my money at these oldies concerts. Also, they didn't pass out a flyer on who was performing, how tacky....
Another superb show in a superb setting. Tokens, Vogues, and the "Duke of Earl" himself, Gene Chandler. I mean, how can they all sound so good after all these years? And they're all such great showmen, especially Gene Chandler. And Charlie Thomas' Drifters may not have had the right lead singer (how many did they have over the years anyway?), but their showmanship made up for it.
The concert was fantastic, really enjoyed the show, seats were excellant and the sound was great. Will go again next year if they are in the area. The choice of music was great and took the audience back in time
Great!! Had me dancing in my seat!! None of the stars had lost their vocal abilities thru the years. Amazing!!
I bought these tickets for my husband's birthday as he is a fan of this type of music. I was excited for him, but this wasn't the type of music I usually like. However, I think I enjoyed it more than he did! The music was great, and I was amazed that these "older" gentlemen sounded amazing for their age! I would buy tickets for next year if they were on sale now, as I don't want to miss the next concert!
