It was wonderful. Very talented kids! I am sure they will go far if they choose to pursue this as a career.

Very well done - both the acting and dancing. There were a lot of talented people on stage.

    High School Musical--A Summer Celebration

by GrandmaNana on 7/24/09The Plateau at National Harbor - National Harbor

The outdoor stage was very small, so it was a good thing that we had seats close to the front. My husband and I took my two granddaughters, ages 10 and 4. It rained off and on during the show, but the show went on--everyone's umbrellas went up making it impossible to see the stage. I paid $128, plus $10 to park, for a show that was NOT comparable to a high school show that I had seen earlier of HSM at Blake High School in Montgomery County, MD. The high school actors were at least as good as these "professional" actors and actresses. The other complaint I had was that the ushers and crew that were supposed to keep things in control allowed ALL people--children and adults to STAND at the front of the stage so that those of us in our chairs were unable to see. That part was a nightmare. The ushers wiped off the front of the stage for the actors, but no effort was made to wipe off the rain from the chairs in which we were sitting. (I personally sat in about an inch of rain in the chair.) At first, a few children went to stand at the front, but towards the end of the show, or during the last three musical numbers, all the adults went forward to find their child in the crowd at the front, and no one could see through them, and there was no effort to make them move. The whole thing was not a good experience. People should be made to stay in their seats.

Stage set up and seating was not what I expected:(

by MommaCorv on 7/23/09The Plateau at National Harbor - National Harbor

I was shocked to see that regular fold-up seats were set out on the black top and that it was not covered by tents. This is not what I expected! The show itself was great but I feel that more information should have been provided that this would not be stadium seating and that it would not be covered. The outdoor seating didn't bother me as much but w/ small children when you have giant, ok super tall people sitting 2 rows in front of us, Well my kids complained that they were unable to see! Finally, they allowed the children to stand right in front of the stage. Thank you to those parents that complained!! This slightly compensated for the poor seating arrangement. Also, I felt the stage was on the small side and they didn't change the scene back drop only until the very end w/ their last performance. Bottom line I do recommend it but be aware that seating is poor and be forewarned that it is outdoor w/out any coverage! Momma Corv Clarksburg, MD

    Not worth the money

by Michprincess on 7/22/09Brookhaven Amphitheatre - Farmingville

I paid $106 for two tickets for the HSM summer celebration. I thought that the dancing was excellent but that was the only thing that was great. The cast did not actually sing the songs, they mouthed along with the CD to HSM. I thought that Troy and Sharpay were terrible, they didn't look anything like the actual characters. I also was upset that the consession and shop selling the HSM apparel only took cash, no charge cards!

    HSM on Stage was OK

    by Wastedmymoney77 on 7/21/09Brookhaven Amphitheatre - Farmingville

Attended High School Musical on Stage at the Brookhaven Amphitheatre. Production was OK, Troy and Gabriella were good, rest of cast was OK. (Sharpay and Ryan were the worst - looked like Vegas impersonators) This event is good for young children ages four and up. Brookhaven Amphitheatre was pretty much the worst theater I have seen. Stairs were uneven and dangerous. Tall grass on the sides of seating area were filled with mosquitos. Workers were young kids who couldn't have cared less. They didn't even show you to your seat. Just pointed and said "over there." Concession stand was horrible. I will not attend another event at Brookhaven Amphitheatre.

    High School Musical Summer Tour

by JKBEBK on 7/21/09The Plateau at National Harbor - National Harbor

I was thrilled to be able to take the little ones to go see High School Musical. The event was great, the kids really enjoyed it. The venue though, thats another story. It was very difficult to see the stage. Parents in rows ahead of us were allowing their kids to stand up or sit/stand on their lap, causing everyone behind them to not be able to see. I would recommend the venue do something better with the seating arrangement.

My daughter enjoyed herself to the utmost!! She loved being able to dance up front while watching the show. The characters did a great job dancing and entertaining the kids. I would recommend this show.

    Great evening

by KayKaysMom on 7/20/09The Plateau at National Harbor - National Harbor

This was my 10 year's old first concert, and she really enjoyed it. The weather was excellent and the kids were able to get closer to the stage with no problem.
