Not only did we get to see Mr. Van Dyke perform and he is still as talented as ever at 86, the evening was a wonderful event with many other stars there as well.

by FanOfMusicalTheater on 9/14/12Pepperdine University - MalibuDick van dyke was great. Shirley Jones was a lovely surprise. But the vantasticks were vanawful. Off key, consistently dissonant, with lots of flirting with but never hitting the melody line. Never has a Capella singing been so poorly served. They drowned him out, and their flourishes were a distraction. And the lady next to us who insisted on singing along with every number was annoying not to mention albeit sadly that her pitch was better than the Vantasticks's.

He was very candid & personable. Even his senior moments he made charming & seem like it was supposed to be part of the show! He performed every song I hoped he would. His group The Vantastixs are excellent. I've been a fan of Dick Van Dyke all of my life & I feel fortunate that I got to see him perform up close & live!
