    Absolutely Amazing!

    by K. H. on 6/7/23

His vocals are just perfection. Saw him in 2016 @ The Wellmont in Montclair. One of the best shows I’ve seen. Can’t wait to see him again!

    Outstanding

by Styx Music Fan on 2/11/23

I've seen Dennis several times as well as Styx as they are now. This past summer I traveled to Gilford to watch Styx and was very disappointed. It's clear the absence of Dennis has impacted recent music writings, concert playlists and showmanship negatively. The only complaint I have is Dennis doesn't tour much but I would see him over and over as his band's sound is exactly what Styx was all about 40 years ago. I will not be seeing Styx any longer as they are the tribute band only at costly prices.

    Styx-The Voice

by Dave in Waco on 12/12/22

My wife and I caught Dennis' last run through Dallas and it was AMAZING!! The entire set was great, including some of the current covers he threw in. We were disappointed that the opportunity to see Dennis again in Austin was cancelled during the pandemic. We need another dose of one of rock's greatest pioneers, Dennis DeYoung. Please make your way back to Texas!

    Amazing

    by L. P. on 9/18/22

I have been in three of his concerts, they are amazing, I went to see Styx a month ago and to be honest, Dennis show sound more than the real Styx, since the band without Dennis is not styx

    Not just an “Illusion”

by Mike on 3/10/20The Magnolia - El Cajon

After more than 45 years and at 73 years old Dennis is still the premo performer. He sounds the same and gets the audience excited for all his classic songs. Looking forward to the release of his new album with Julian Lennon.

    Blast from the past

by Petes on 3/10/20The Magnolia - El Cajon

Dennis put together a great band that did an awesome job playing all the hits we love. I wasn't the biggest Styx fan but I really enjoyed the show. I don't know what the rift is between him and the rest of the band Styx but it is too bad they aren't touring together. Dennis's voice was great, keyboard playing still amazing and had funny banter/commentary with the audience. I highly recommend to anyone that enjoyed listening to Styx through the years.

    Dennis De Young

by Sue on 3/10/20The Magnolia - El Cajon

Dennis played the whole Grand Illusion album. The experience was more than I could ever have hoped for. He also played extra Styx tunes. Incredible!

    Amazing performance & nice people

by Cachito on 3/10/20The Magnolia - El Cajon

Dennis stills performing very well and his band is very talented. I'll see Styx in June so I would know then which band is better.

    Dennis DeYoung

    by M. B. on 3/10/20The Magnolia - El Cajon

The show itself was awesome. I've seen Dennis once before but this time he was spot on. Great time. The revamped Magnolia, previously the East County Performing Arts was fantastic. Nice comfy new seats. Only complaint I had was that there was a size regulation on ladies handbags of 10 x 10. Most women were forced to walk all the way back to their vehicles. When I checked the Magnolia's website before the show, the only thing I noticed mention of was no backpacks were allowed. The bag size limit should be more prominently displayed on their website. Other than that, it was fantastic. Will definitely go back.
