Debo Band Tickets

This was about the 5th time I have seen Debo Band, and it was the best! They have always been good, but their music is more interesting and the show was more exciting. Each person on stage is a high-level musician, and the staging has worked to crank up the fun! It must be a challenge to market a band that plays music that is unfamiliar to most Americans and is sung in a language that very few Americans know, but this group has figured out how to do just that. Clearly this is a band on the rise!

I bought tickets to this show because it was ethinic and I'm taking a world music class and have to see a show, but Debo band wiped my off my feet. The openers were okay, very trippy dissonant music, but then the whole band came out which just looked like mutts and blasted every instrument with the most excited singer. The singer even jumped down and started dancing with us. It was a lot of fun and very cool to listen to some great music, and to diversify.
