by 927lmm on 3/14/11Temple for the Performing Arts - Des MoinesWe went to De Temps Antan unfamiliar with them and totally unaware of what we were about to experience. The 2 hours we spent with them in the intimate atmosphere of the Temple for the Performing Arts flew by, as they totally involved us in their unique music. Their French-Canadian sound - understandably most comparable to the Cajun music of New Orleans- used violin, guitar, harmonica, accordian, jaws harp and an INCREDIBLE percussive foot tapping/dancing on amplified wooden pads - as well as wonderful vocals that could either go single or harmonize beautifully. These three guys obviously enjoy sharing their music with others, but you could tell that they loved just making their music happen with each other! They sang in French, but they could sing in any language and their audience would connect with them!
