Intimate setting and great music. Johhny rocked the place and was a great start to the show. David's storytelling was a good filler though a little more singing would have been better. Still...two of my faves and the night was 5 star all the way!
It's rare that you'll get to see 2 great performers in a setting that is as intimate as the Duck Room. What a surprise to find out just a few days ago that Johnny was even coming with David. He got to play a pretty full set of his stuff and his Cracker stuff and then we got to hear David telling many stories leading up to each song. Great perspective. And then, they played together. Sound was great!
Great show. Johnny Hickman, Cracker lead guitarist, opened up with a fun set. Costco Socks is a fun song. Then David Lowery came on with his solo set/stand up comic routine. He talked....a lot. But his stories were fun. If you have not gone out to buy David Lowery's new solo album, do it, it is really good. The Duck Room at Blueberry Hill is always a great place to see a band.
