About

DAUGHTER IN CONCERT:

London-based indie folksters Daughter are quickly making headlines with their beautifully ambient music and cool hipster vibe. The group's low-key tunes tug on fans’ heartstrings as singer Elena Tonra leads with her strikingly emotive voice backed by a simple guitar strum and lovely atmospherics. On their highly anticipated UK and European tour, the humble performers will play hits such as “Youth” and “Landfill” and surely win over countless new fans.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Starting as a solo project by songstress Elena Tonra, Daughter truly took shape in 2010 when Tonra caught the attention of guitarist Igor Haefeli who was captivated by her solo work and asked to join the band. They added drummer Remi Aguilella for the recording of their EPs The Wild Youth and His Young Heart, and they've been playing as a trio ever since. With the success of their recorded music came a number of live gigs – they’ve appeared at festivals like Austin's SXSW and spent time touring around the world alongside The National and Ben Howard. They broke out with 2013's If You Leave, a sparkling debut that received rave reviews from a number of critics and peaked at No. 4 on the UK Indie chart. Hot off the heels of Coachella 2014, Daughter will have fans in awe as they hit the road for their UK and European tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"At one point in the show I just remember tuning around to my friend and we both had our jaws on the floor. The music was soul-shatteringly good...Daughter was adorable and amazing as usual!"

"True talent. The band sounds just as good live, if not better, than their album. They are literally the most humble performers, which just makes their sound more worthwhile... so so great."

"Daughter sounds even better live! They presented raw talent and their live show was definitely worth it!"

    So beautiful

by DarkkVixen on 12/3/16Neptune Theatre - Seattle

I loved this show! Not only was Daughter hauntingly perfect but the opening act (Alexandra Savior) almost matched the level of quality. Such a beautiful sound to echo off the walls, such a nice crowd, I can't wait until the next time Daughter comes around.

Mixed feelings about Daughter concert at Wiltern

by FrancisLA on 12/1/16Wilter Theater - Los Angles

Daughter had a great performance as usual but warm feelings went away after all the inconveniences related to the venue (Wiltern Theater). Concert was announced to start at 8 PM but did not start until 9 PM with a band that I have never heard of. Daughter did not come to stage until 10:10 PM after more than 21/2 h standing up waiting.

    Daughter was AMAZING

by Jbsbc on 11/30/16Neptune Theatre - Seattle

I'm so excited I finally got to see Daughter play live! They were as good or better sounding live and I enjoyed seeing them play in a smaller venue at the Neptune because it felt like a more intimate setting. The only thing I'd change would be their light show. They had three bright white lights that were a bit intense and strobey for me at times. I was in the upper deck seating so maybe the lights weren't as intense for the ground floor. But all in all id definitely recommend going to see them play and I'll be going to see them again whenever they're back in Seattle.

    Daughter was phenomenal!!!

by Anonymous on 11/7/16Electric Factory - Philadelphia

Daughter isn't a well known band but their performance was better than a bigger group in my opinion!! The lights and effects went so well with the music and you can tell the crowd was enjoying the show.

    Phenomenal all around

by ericp92 on 4/11/16Newport Music Hall - Columbus

Before walking to the show, my friend and I were talking about how difficult it must be to put as much emotion and sincerity into such deep songs night after night on tour, and were worried that Daughter would be too drained from the same songs to put on a good show. Fortunately, that couldn't be farther from the truth. Every song, they poured all of the emotion and talent you hear on the record. Between songs, they kept talking about how much they appreciated everyone being there and how nice it was to be touring. She would smile every time she could hear the crowd singing along and just seemed so happy and appreciative. They performed two encore songs with just as much energy as their original set to thunderous applause. The lighting and smoke was SPOT on; a couple times I was expecting her to ascend bodily into the heavens as she sang. I can't wait until they come back anywhere close to Columbus.

    Daughter was magical!

by Amnehxo on 4/6/16Newport Music Hall - Columbus

I've been to a lot of concerts over the past couple of years and this one had to be my favorite. They're performance was awesome. Daughter sounded better live...so would definitely recommend to a friend. Only complaint was the location was kind of annoying because the standing/seating situation. Other than that....unforgettable night.

    Yes , they were amazing

by wholemind on 3/25/16The Fillmore - San Francisco

Spellbinding , cant wait till they ever have a Blu-ray of a live show, I would pay 30 bucks, no problem. I haven't taken "not to disappear" out of my player since I got it three weeks ago, but Im a fan for three years now and have seen all three bay area shows.

Their performance was amazing but I wished they chose a different venue--one where you could stand and move to the music. I know Daughter doesn't play your stereotypical dancing music but I certainly wanted to move to music and the setup for Somerville Theatre doesn't really allow you to do that without bothering other people. Their performances are always amazing and so powerful. I love Daughter.
