About

Dat Phan is the original winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing, and is a headlining comedian touring live across the U.S.  He has made numerous TV and movie appearances including "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "Family Guy" voiceover, "Cellular", and "The Tyra Banks Show". The DVD "Dat Phan Live" was released in January 2010 and is available from Amazon.com. CD "You Touch, You Buy" is now available on iTunes. Preproduction on a movie titled "Yellow Fever" is in the works.
Dat was born in Saigon, Vietnam and grew up struggling and poor in San Diego, CA. Hysterical!

by Jleetahoe on 11/28/16Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

Dat Phan had me rolling on the floor! A MUST SEE!! Dan was also really funny, and I would have gone to see him as a headliner. The first guy wasn't really funny at all, but was only up for a few minutes.

All three performers - Dash, Dan, and Dat (the 3D's) were great! Highly recommend everyone to see Dat Phan whenever he comes to town! He's in like 4 TV shows and filming a movie but still has time to do stand up!

A so so, predictable comedy night

by vb11 on 6/2/15Punch Line Comedy Club - Sacramento - Sacramento

I hope the comedian and his group can read this review: 1. Lack of topics, theme. The comedians used very familiar topics: race, marriage, sex. It could be funny if 1 comedian used it, but if all four comedian used the same topics in 1 night, it's too much. If nothing is off topic, then why not trying politic, religion. It will take little research but these topic will provide lots of playground. 2. Dat Phan overused his Vietnamese card. Because of the lack of topic, or perhaps knowledge about other subjects, Dat Phan's jokes mostly were about his experience as a Vietnamese-American. It could be funny for about 5 minutes, but then again and again, his jokes were often at the expense of what happened within the Vietnamese community. Was it funny? As a Vietnamese-American, I did find it funny at first, but then it went too far and too exaggerated. Imagine if all comedians from different races will only joke about their own race. Will that at all be funny for the entire session?

    Dat Phan was okay

by yomamasmama on 12/3/13Punch Line Comedy Club - San Francisco - San Francisco

The host and other opening act for this event were both pretty good. Dat Phan started out good, but it felt like there was not enough material to go the full time. Seemed like he was constantly going back to racial jokes, which is fine for a while, but it got old. I'd say the first 20-30 minutes were good. Didn't need to hear the rest of the jokes and actually started to get bored, which has never happened for me at a comedy show.

Dat was full of energy and hilarious. He must had a BIG bowl of "PHO" before coming on stage.

Dat Phan was really funny and seemed like a nice guy. I liked that his jokes didn't get too sexual and that they weren't cheap. He had a good set, which entertained the crowd very well.

    It was great!

by pclnsn on 4/1/13Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

I missed Far Easter last year since I was out of the state, but I have to say that this year was great. Besides Dat, there were 3 other comedians so I guess Dat had to take over 2 sets instead of just being the MC. But I have to say we all enjoyed him the most! I invited my friend, and her parents decided to buy tickets for the show at the door since it seemed interesting. We all had a great time and it was their first comedy show! The other comedians were also good, but no one can top Dat. I've seen him at least 4 times now. He's great. I love that he also hangs out after the show to take pictures and autograph the goods he's selling.

    Too nasty

by DispleasedToo on 1/2/13Punch Line Comedy Club - Sacramento - Sacramento

The use of profane and/or foul language repeatedly by all four comedians, was a big disappointment. The third comedian's gig was also way too long. Won't return if and until they have more mainstream humor. You don't have to be creative to swear every other word for your humor!

Dat Phan have me rolling on Dat Floor

by JS00000001 on 11/26/12Punch Line Comedy Club - San Francisco - San Francisco

Awesome performance! Really, really funny. We were a super diverse group and everyone really enjoyed it. Very low-level of profanity, which was most appreciated! Dat has us rolling in on the floor several times.

Dat Phan was a ball of energy and sooo funny!

by Funster5 on 11/26/12Punch Line Comedy Club - San Francisco - San Francisco

A very talented comedian who doesn't need to rely on bathroom jokes, sex and human anatomy as basis for his program. Clever and everyday observations of people in their daily lives, including his own, make his hilarious jokes come to life.
