    Good surprise

by icanhazcheezburger on 12/12/10Attucks Theatre - Norfolk

I haven't heard about them before going to that show, and it turned out to be a good move. Danielle has a good presence on the stage, she has an amazing voice (yet does not abuse it), and most of all, her songs are very effective and catchy. And her use of the yukulele makes her music refreshing compared to the usual folk stuff. The second act was Lucy Wainwright, and I did not like it as much. Her style is a lot more conventional, with the usual 6-string guitar and ballads that could have come from the 1960s. Of course that's not a big problem (nobody has to reinvent folk music, it is fine the way it is). What I found more annoying though is that she constantly oscillates between a loud plaintive voice to a whispering voice. It played with my nerves during the whole set. Nevertheless, she is obviously a good performer.

Danielle Ate The Sandwich is tasty!!!

by KazooKim on 11/19/10The Ark - Ann Arbor

Danielle is amazing! She has one of the most pure voices I've ever heard. Her humor that she adds to her shows makes her even more likable. I would recommend her show to everyone. I brought my daughters, ages 8, 14 and 18 and I'm 41 and we all loved her. Danielle is going to be a big star - check her out!
