DMB - always beautiful and fun!

    by beachchick601 on 4/2/14McFarlin Auditorium - Dallas

We make the DMB productions at McFarlin a family experience. The costumes are lovely and the stories are always engaging, even to the little ones. The dancers are beautiful and it is fun to know that they are local dancers active in our own community. We can't wait to see Cinderella and Peter and the Wolf!

DMB - Always a memorable performance

    by DallasArtsFan1 on 3/31/14McFarlin - Dallas

Lovely dancers, very entertaining. The choreography is always amazing. The DMB's Night Before Christmas has truly become a family tradition for us. We are greatly looking forward to the spring performance. Cinderella will be a treat, I'm sure, but I'm also looking forward to the classic "Peter and the Wolf."

    The Night Before Christmas

by JoiAnneinDallas on 12/17/13McFarlin Auditorium - Dallas

Was it an enjoyable evening? Certainly! Did the dancers have balance errors? Yes. It's pretty tough to bring perfection and effortlessness into one seamless event, but this is one of the few ballet performances I've seen with this many flaws by major dancers. Still, the fantasy carries people away, there are moments of lightness and kindness and joy. That's what it's all about. And, helping grow baby ballet dancers into singular and memorable performers and artists. Thank you for the evening.

Excellent performance by SMU,but not worth price!

    by l20008726 on 12/17/13McFarlin Auditorium - Dallas

Choreography was well established and executed by the performers. Ticket price was extremely high for the venue and scenery. Not many people were present beside patents of the performers. It felt as though I was attending a senior recital.

Beautiful Ballet - Night Before Christmas

by DallasArtsFan1 on 12/13/13SMU's McFarlin Auditorium - Dallas

The Dallas Metropolitan Ballet's The Night Before Christmas has become a must-see family tradition for us. Directors and Choreographers Ann Etgen and Bill Atkinson are true gifts to the Dallas performing arts community. Their outstanding and fast-paced choreography makes The Night Before Christmas fun for the entire family, even the little ones. A rare find. The guest performers treat us to a breath-taking performance each year. The New York City Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders in Belgium, and -- I recently heard that this year will include a special guest appearance from a former soloist of London's Royal Ballet. Wonderful to have such talent visit Dallas! "The Night Before Christmas" showcases the lovely, talented dancers of The Dallas Metropolitan Ballet Company. The strength and charisma of these dancers is a highlight each and every year - from Dawn to the Snow Queen to the clowns, mice, Santa and his elves and the rest. We are greatly looking forward to this year's performance. (As for parking... when I know that McFarlin auditorium is known for its parking challenges, we just arrive a little earlier. I can't imagine letting that keep us from attending any event (Tate Lecture Series, David Byrne, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, etc.) held there, especially not this one!) Bravo Dallas Metropolitan Ballet!

    upcoming ballet company

    by MECH7 on 12/14/11McFarlin Auditorium - Dallas

Difficult to find on SMU campus. Auditorium seating is to close to the stage and too wide to see all of stage. Good concepts for illustrations of story. A beginning troupe for novice ballet goers. Males need to be stronger to balance females on point, lifts and holds. Probably would not reattend at this venue.

A very fine amateur production. I would recommend this show as a good holiday family event.

This ballet was wonderful, the scenes, and sets were sharp vivid and full of color. The dancing was beautiful. It all worked together to deliver all the best elements of a well performed ballet. I would highly recommend it.
