They started out jamming on Bob Dylan tunes. Now, this dynamic Victoria, BC-based five-piece band leads the way when it comes to the new roots music pulsating on Canada's West Coast. Their initial surf/ska/reggae/rock sound has evolved to include a deeper blues/folk feel that's prominent on the group's latest album, Protect Your Own. They've been dubbed "Ben Harper meets Sublime" but when you get right down to it, the spirited jams they create are distinctly "swell."

Such an amazing band…sad to say the sound was so horrible I could hardly hear anything over the distortion. Credit to both bands for carrying on
Amazing show, great venue. I didn’t know them before going to this show but they’ve caught my attention and were super entertaining. Opener Gold & Youth was also amazing
Top notch experience all around. The Commodore is a great place and the whole experience as a first concert post-covid was wonderful.
My boyfriend and I randomly attended this show and found they were actually unbelievable and needed way more fans. Be sure to take a listen and they really are great performers :)
They are amazing, great band! I just hope they come again soon!
Seen these cats three times now in the last 2 years and each time their set gets tighter and more enjoyable. Their songwriting has matured significantly and Ulysses is no let down. Great hooks, variable styles (up tempo dirty rock like Rollin' and then rural folk-pop tune with infectious melody in One Day I'll Be Rich) and overall class act. If you have a chance check them out, they don't disappoint!
Amazing band and even better performers! Very friendly and real muscians
Current Swell was unreal. Quality musicianship, found myself getting lost in watching them play. Definitely will see them again
