They started out jamming on Bob Dylan tunes. Now, this dynamic Victoria, BC-based five-piece band leads the way when it comes to the new roots music pulsating on Canada's West Coast. Their initial surf/ska/reggae/rock sound has evolved to include a deeper blues/folk feel that's prominent on the group's latest album, Protect Your Own. They've been dubbed "Ben Harper meets Sublime" but when you get right down to it, the spirited jams they create are distinctly "swell."

Their songwriting has matured significantly and Ulysses is no let down. Great hooks, variable styles (up tempo dirty rock like Rollin' and then rural folk-pop tune with infectious melody in One Day I'll Be Rich) and overall class act. If you have a chance check them out, they don't disappoint!
