George was a man in a brown suit

by sweetie71398 on 5/26/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

I was disappointed to see that George was just a man dressed in a brown suit with no head covering his face. He didn't look like the George we see on TV. Nonetheless my 2 year old son did not question it and still seemed to enjoy the show. It was shorter than most shows, only 1 hr and no intermission. I felt that it wasn't worth the price.

    Awful

by Ccdevi on 5/25/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

Really bad show. My six year old who loves Curious George asked to leave half way through. It's the quality of a show you'd see at a high school. Actually it's worse.

    Cute show

by CindyAnn524 on 5/25/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

The show was cute. Not the best I've seen but it was a musical and very kid and toddler appropriate. Show ran an hour with no breaks and not sure if it was just the theater but the acoustics were off and so at some points it was hard to hear the words over the background sounds and yet sound effects were too loud. I not recommend paying a lot for the tickets or you will be disappointed.

    think twice

by jessica10701 on 5/25/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

it was the longest hour of my life sitting and watching Curious George. My daughter that is three yrs said i was OK but George looks weird! His costume was horrible nothing like Daniel Tiger that I saw a few weeks ago. There was so much screaming babies around because I felt if Curious George was in a better costume that it would've bought more eye attention to the stage. I ran out of there like a BAT OUT OF HELL!!

    Monkey Man

by JoJoJoJoJo20 on 5/25/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

Let me start off by saying that my 2 & 1/2 year old is a big fan of George and it turned out that he was very entertained by the show. My biggest complaint is that instead of having a full George costume, complete with a George head, it was a monkey suit with the face cut out. So, essentially you are looking at a man's face while the rest of him is dressed as a monkey. I wasn't sure at 1st if my son would recognize that he was suppose to be George, but luckily he did make the association. The costume was really lame and a horrible choice. It's like seeing Mickey Mouse, but when you look at Mickey's face, it's a man wearing Mickey ears, but has Mickey's body. The show was an hour long with no intermission. My son liked it so I shouldn't complain, but what a poor choice in terms of presenting George.

    Not worth the price

by METS7 on 5/25/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

My son is big fan of curious George. This play by far is the worst we have seen, George was a young man running around without a mask. The man with the yellow hat had three different shades of yellow and did not change customs for different scenes. The songs sounded so cheap different. All throughout the 2/3 of the show we watched because we left early, my son asked " Daddy where is George?" I would not recommend and even if it was free I would hesitate to go.

    Not what i expected...

by MomPE on 5/25/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

First i thought it was going to be similar to sesame live in which the characters were in mascot costume curious george was a guy almost as tall as the man in the yellow hat. In addition it was hard to make out what they were singing. The dancing was okay. Seats even though they were up front didnt have the greatest view also why have seats like foldong chairs so uncomfortable next to good seats might as well just have everything the same because the seats next to mine were the same price. My son who loves curious george and was excited to see it got bored after he saw the man in the poorly made monkey costume.

    Cute, but short

by Shellt1978 on 5/25/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

The show was cute, but it was only an hour long. The monkey was in an unrealistic costume, I was disappointed there, but my son was not. The worst part was the attendees to the show. We were in the front row mezzanine, which was great. We only paid $19 per seat, I would not have paid more. The people on the floor below us paid $39 per seat, and during the show, below us we could hear dozens of children screaming and crying. Parents were not leaving with their children despite the request before the show to remove children who were not enjoying the show. From where we were, we could hear it, but not enough to interrupt our experience. If I was down below I would have been angry. We had one person behind us with two crying children that left after about ten minutes. I wish the ushers had asked people to leave. Parents, please do not bring your children to a show like this if they are babies or are not capable of sitting and watching it for the full length. The show itself was fun and the music was good. My 4 year old enjoyed it, but for the length I am glad we only paid what we did for our seats.

He wasn't in a Curious George costume!

by MJM2016 on 5/25/16Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

Imagine the disappointment after spending $50 on a ticket to see CURIOUS GEORGE LIVE when the main character came out on stage and did not even look like Curious George. He was not wearing a Curious George costume. Rather, he was in a monkey suit - brown velour pants and top and a hat with ears on it. Little kids were yelling at the stage, "That's not George!!!" For the life of me, I cannot figure out why a show that is based upon Curious George would not have done the minimum requirement of obtaining a Curious George costume for the lead role.
