About

Crossfaith on Tour

Japanese metalcore outfit Crossfaith are a genre-blending five-piece act from Osaka that originally formed in 2006. Comprising members Kenta Koie, Kazuki Takemura, Terufumi Tamano, Tatsuya Amano, and Hiroki Ikegawa, Crossfaith initially formed when Koie, Takemura, and Tamano were playing in a nu metal band doing Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit covers. When the band broke up, Kenta contacted drummer Amano to join, and Crossfaith was born.

Inspired by nu metal and electronic dance acts like The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy, Crossfaith released their first EP The Artificial Theory for the Dramatic Beauty in 2009. They followed with their 2011 debut album, The Dream, The Space. Also in 2011, Crossfaith toured as part of Japan's Summer Sonic Festival.

In 2012, Crossfaith joined Of Mice & Men on tour with Bury Tomorrow. They also toured the UK with Bleed From Within and Polar and toured Japan with Underoath. In 2013, Crossfaith dropped their sophomore album Apocalyze and toured with Ozzfest Japan and on the Vans Warped Tour.

Come 2014, Crossfaith toured prolifically, appearing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in the UK, Germany's simultaneous Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals and Beast Fest, the UK's Download Festival, France's Hellfest, Belgium's Graspop Metal Meeting, and Pulp Summer Slam. In Japan, they played the Rock in Japan Festival and Rising Sun Rock Festival.

In 2015, Crossfaith put out another LP, Xeno, and appeared on the Ozzfest Japan lineup. Playing abroad that year, they performed at the 2015 Vans Warped Tour, the UK's Slam Dunk Festival, and Australia's Soundwave Festival. They slowed down just a bit in 2016, playing Knotfest Japan and both the Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Crossfaith dropped their fourth studio album Ex Machina in 2018. Produced by Drew Fulk, Ex Machina featured guest spots from Ho99o9, Rou Reynolds of Enter Shikari, and Masato Hayakawa of Coldrain.

In February 2020, the band debuted a new single, "Endorphin," exclusively on Daniel P. Carter's BBC Radio 1 Rock Show. Two months later, they released another single, "Digital Parasite." Both appeared on their 2020 EP Species. They shared a second EP in 2020 called Kids Still Want a New Acid.

Later, in February 2021, Crossfaith released "Dead or Alive," which they followed up with "RedZone."

In July 2022, the band announced on social media that their longtime supporting guitarist Tama had left on good terms and would be replaced by Daiki Koide, formerly from Her Name in Blood.
