I've been a fan of Crack the Sky since the middle 70's and have seen them many times over the years. They did not disappoint, playing many of the songs CTS fans know best as well as some deep cuts that surprised me. Long nights was a real treat to hear live. The Beatles tunes they covered were awesome. All in all it was a great night of music from one of my all time favorite bands.
I’ve been a fan of Crack The Sky since the late 70’s when there first album came out. These guys have been around for along time and still put on a great show and sound good. This is the first time I’ve been to XL Live , and it won’t be the last. It reminds me of the old Hammerjacks.
Played everything I wanted to hear. Played songs i didn't expect. Covers sonds extremely well.
Venue was ok..problem was there was a plastic wall which they removed to bring the outside in.why they did this in November is beyond me...so it got kinda cold..and then there was all the people smoking cigarettes and cheap cigars hanging out there which all blew in the area we were sitting..this made it very uncomfortable..I had a headache smelling it before the band even hit the stage.I really loved the bands both the cover and Crack the Sky but having to smell the smoke coming from the people outside really ruined the experience for me..I think they should put a no smoking rule into effect so that those of us that do not don’t have to suffer for 3 hours smelling it..we actually left early because I was freezing and could not take the smell anymore..oh and we wanted to avoid all the drunks on the dance floor..figured we might have a shot at getting out of the parking lot without getting into an accident.
Everything was Excellent. The venue is a great place to see shows. The opening act "We Came From Space" was also excellent. But when CRACK THE SKY took the stage everything went from Excellent to Exceptional. This band has been rocking stages since 1975 and they have never left the audience down. If you've never seen them, you MUST go and check them out. If you don't know their music, get on-line and listen to them. It might take a while to get through their 22+ albums, but you will not be disappointed.
Band was in top form! Would of been 5 star, but SoundStage I guess made the tables on the side of the stage a VIP ticket. This was not on Ticketmaster site. Pay twice the ticket price for a seat that was free at the 2021 show was just, to me, a money grab. Will think twice about the next time I go back. CTS was awesome though!
I saw Crack the Sky live somewhere in Annapolis, Md in 1981 while I lived there. I have been a fan ever since!! Music is the greatest!! #number uno fan!!

Awesome show! Great stage presence! Incredible Musicians. Live is just like the recordings. I will go every time they come close to me. I live in Rochester NY, Seen them twice in Baltimore, and Twice in Buffalo. Last show was a the Tralf on Friday Night. Ran into Rick Wikowski and Bobby Hird as they were entering. Introduced myself and Shook both their hands. Great Guys! Thanks CTS!
Even though this was an acoustic event, the show was excellent and they played the hits that I remember and some songs that I never heard of since I only owned a greatest hits album at the time of the show. I bought several of their other albums at the show and now I can familiarize myself with more of their music. The only hit they did not play was "Razors In My Heart." Because the rest of the show was excellent, that was kind of minor. I would definitely come and see them play again.
