About

COWBOY TROY IN CONCERT:

Country rapper Cowboy Troy always gets the party started with his boot-stomping tunes and rowdy live performances. Troy’s shows are all about cutting loose and having fun, and his humorous rapping on feel-good favorites like “Hick Chick” and “I Play Chicken with the Train” always gets fans hootin’ and hollerin’. He’s a dynamic performer, rapping his verses and singing his catchy choruses with plenty of twangy swagger while he kicks around the stage in his signature boots and hat. Meanwhile his band turns out a hoe-down-worthy blend of rock and hip hop, adding live guitars and drums to keep the energy on 10 from start to finish. Cowboy Troy is a true country music maverick, and his unique hybrid sound and rollicking live shows treat ticket buyers to a concert experience unlike any other.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Troy Lee Coleman III grew up in Dallas and received his bachelor’s degree from University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his nickname Cowboy Troy due to his ever-present Stetson hat. He caught the attention of execs at Warner Bros. with his self-released 2002 debut LP Beginner’s Luck, and in 2005 he made his major label debut with the album Loco Motive. The record was a success, peaking at No. 2 on the Country charts and cracking the Top 20 on the Billboard 200 thanks to popular lead single “I Play Chicken with the Train”, a collaboration with country duo Big & Rich. After co-hosting the fifth season of reality TV competition Nashville Star alongside singer-songwriter Jewel, Troy once again climbed the country charts with his 2007 album Black in the Saddle. Since then he’s continued to be a favorite with both country and rap fans thanks to genre-spanning albums like 2014’s King of Clubs, a Top 40 hit on the Rap charts. With his funny rhymes and party-worthy live shows, Cowboy Troy treats fans to a heck of a good time every time he takes the stage.

    John Rich was AWESOME!!!!

by jules622 on 11/23/09Grand Casino Hinckley Event Center - Hinckley

I would go see John Rich w/Cowboy Troy again in a heart beat. He was full of energy and really worked the crowd!!! He is a very good entertainer and has great songs. I love the way he spoke his mind and love his attitude!!!! I liked the way that the security wouldn't let people stand in front of the stage till the end song, but you could go up to take a picture. John was super good!!! Best 2 hours for a concert that I've been to in a long time. I sure hope he comes back to the Northland again!!!!!!!!!!!

    John Rich is a showman!

by Sailormsi on 11/23/09Grand Casino Hinckley Event Center - Hinckley

This show proved what a farce it was for Taylor Swift to be named Country entertainer of the year. John Rich had amazing interaction with the crowd and the quality of his performance was fabulous. Not an overproduced country version of a Britney Spears show, a great evening spent with a truly talented performer.

    John Rich was on fire!

by BlinginJRfan on 11/22/09Grand Casino Hinckley Event Center - Hinckley

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! John Rich put on an amazing show! He was having such a good time and bringing the audience along for the ride. John loves his fans and does whatever it takes to make sure we are having a good time. He sang a variety of songs from Big and Rich, his solo cd, Johnny Cash, and songs he has written for other artists. Then he threw Cowboy Troy and Two Foot Fred in the mix just to top it off. The show was a good two hours long. All I can say is the man can make it as a solo artist without a doubt. If you love Big and Rich or good rockin' country, check out John Rich when he comes to your city! You won't be disappointed.
