Cory Chisel Tickets

My friend and I were among a small crowd at the newly (Dec. 2012) Sinclair in Harvard Square. We enjoyed the opener, a Bostonian, Will Dailey very much. His songs were consistently good. Then Cory Chisel and his wife, Adriel, performed for an hour and a half. Matt Pinn (?) backed them up on guitar. Matt had also accompanied Will Dailey on some songs. Cory was friendly, chatty and played all of the songs requested by audience. He is an amazing song writer! He also just seems like a nice guy.

A small turnout didn't diminish the effort by Cory Chisel and his partner on keys and vocals. He acknoeledged the crowd size by proposing that he buy everyone a shot. This prompted a couple fans to buy shots for Cory and his partner. He also offered to play requests and responded kindly to the shout outs that were received. He joked that the requests trended to his darker tunes, reflecting the despair still felt by Bostonians offer the Bruins' Stanley Cup loss. This easy rapport did not diminsh from the performance which clearly showed an artist who is functioning at a high level of songcrafting. This was my second time listening to Cory, with the first one featuring his full band, "The Wandering Sons." I look forward to his next appearance in the area that will hopefully have a more robust turnout. Cory desereves the wider audience.
