Great event, not a bad seat in the house! I will definitely be going again!

    Disappointment in the Cage

    by Doug6n on 10/31/11Pershing Center - Lincoln

First of all they started about 45 minutes late. The girl who sang the Star Spangled Banner was very good, but that was almost the highlight of the night. Only one match went 3 rounds. The first several rounds were pretty lame (but I am aware these are young guys and amateurs). The main event was a surprise tap out in the first round by the fighter expected to win. There were some highlights in other rounds that were good, but for $60 for a ring side seat, in general it was disappointing. Sorry to those who worked so hard to put on the show.

This was my first time attending one of these events. I didn't realize when I bought the tickets that the event was outside. It was like 100 degrees. There were not enough watering or refreshment stations. I had to go out every two hours to feed the meter. I purchased 2 VIP seats thast were numbered on the tickets. The VIP section was nothing more that a cordoned off section of folding chairs and tables in the blistering heat and sun. When entering the VIP section we were told the seats were first come first served. I was angry with myself for wasting over $120.00. There was a black box for a cameraman to stand on that obstructed the view from the VIP seats. People who paid $20 for tickets had not only better view but grabbed chairs and tables and made spots in the shade for themselves. The announcer sounded like he had a mouth full of marbles. Once the fighting started @ 6:30, it turned into a GREAT time!! And the next day when I stepped on the scale I found that I sweat off 3 unwanted lbs!! I will attend the fights again, but always know that if it is an outside event NEVER purchase a VIP ticket!!!

    No Organization

by BarnCat on 7/11/11Pershing Center - Lincoln

After searching for hours we found an online schedule the day before the event that boasted three fight blocks throughout the day. We arrived at 2pm and sat in the blistering sun for an hour with no fight before leaving. We returned at 4pm and sat for another half an hour waiting for the advertised Muay Thai demo that didnt happen. We returned a third time at 6pm for the main event fights which didnt begin until 7pm. Im still not sure why this was an all day event.

    Tardy, toddlers, TV camera

    by John07 on 6/14/11Pershing Center - Lincoln

45 minutes after the advertised start-time there was still no sign of anything happening. When the first fight finally started, a camera-man stood ring-side blocking our view of the most entertaining moments and the monitor he was feeding to was BEHIND us. I guess a zoom lens wasn't in the budget. The atmosphere was also peppered with children - always running. Every time I looked to my left or right, there was a child sprinting somewhere. This really was the rotten icing on the cake. A loud, violent, profanity-ridden venue at 11 p.m. is no place for a 4-year-old. So much for 'guys night out' in Lincoln. I'd thought I'd try it out, but I'll stick to Vegas.

Definitely need some improvement on the announcing agenda. You need to announce the team AND gym the fighter is with and you HAVE to let the winner thank his/her sponsors and say a word or two. It would also be beneficial to have a at least three monitors and there is no reason you can't show replays!!!!!!!!! It was a great CFC 3. Good job Dakota.

    Pretty Good Event

    by Doug6n on 2/20/11Pershing Center - Lincoln

Honestly, some of the amateur matches were sort of lame, but there were also some very good ones. The Pro's were pretty good. Only a few of all of them went to the judges. I wanted to see a lot more excitement and fighting. Sorry I can't give it a better review.
