    Great day.

by Mikeip on 11/5/14Cruzan Amphitheatre - West Palm Beach

Got there around 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Three of us had purchased VIP tickets and were surprised to find the staff had little knowledge of what pit VIP entailed. After 30 minutes we finallyinfo had entrance to the area and wristbands. More training was needed. The stage locations were convenient and the bands we're talented. Highlights were The Hold Steadyl, Bombay Bicycle Club and Mancheser Orchestra. Venue was excellent. See you next year.

I thought Cage the Elephant, Wild Cub and Manchester Orchestra were all good but most of the bands were uninspiring. I think for a music festival there needed to be more high energy bands. Last years festival had several acts meeting that description including Matt and Kim, Fitz and the Tantrums and Capital Cities. They really got the crowd going and it would've helped get a better turnout. I thought there was a good selection of beers and the food trucks. Also the parking was a fiasco with people leaving from the Halloween event as people were arriving for the festival from the same entrance. It took me over 30 minutes to get in and I missed one of the bands that I wanted to see. Overall, if some changes are made, this can be a really exciting festival for our area.

    Awesome Music Festival

by JenOSRQ on 11/3/14MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the FL State Fairgrounds - Tampa

What a great day of music! I hope that this becomes an annual event. The festival was very well-organized making for a relaxing and enjoyable day. The crowd was also well-behaved. The variety of bands, the great selection of beer, and the quality of food trucks exceeded my expectations. Thanks for organizing such a great festival.

    Indie Sunday

by HappyMomInFL on 10/29/14Cruzan Amphitheatre - West Palm Beach

I'm always happy to see indie/alt acts coming to the West Palm Beach area - we don't get many and to get a bunch of bands on a package tour like this was a great deal for this part of the state. However, the acts on the bill for the Coral Skies Festival weren't all my favorites. I could have done without Julian Casablancas, for sure - not a fan of his new stuff w/the Voidz and I didn't like it any better live than I did on vinyl. But a few acts that I had wanted to catch made the day worthwhile. Bombay Bicycle Club are a solid group, and they sounded good live, though they weren't too exciting to watch. Bleachers was a real standout - I've loved the album for a while now, and the whole band was energetic and having fun from start to finish. The cover of Dreams (by 90's band the Cranberries) was a great surprise. Jack Antonoff is an excellent frontman and he puts on a hell of a show. And the headliners, Cage The Elephant, were awesome. Definitely on form, very energetic and sounding great. Add in the great weather and the food trucks, and you've got a fantastic way to spend a Sunday in South Florida. I went to Coastline last year and I have to say I enjoyed that fest better - Matt and Kim on their own just destroyed the place and nothing could top that - but I hope to see Coral Skies and other indie festivals coming to West Palm again.

Cage The Elephant was so awesome!!

by Anonymous on 10/29/14MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the FL State Fairgrounds - Tampa

The whole day was really well planned out, constatnt music at all times. The prices of food and drink wer quite high but to be expected. Especially liked that the bands came out to meet their fans and sign autographs, that wouldn't happen at a regular concert. Most of the bands were really very good, but Cage The Elephant made it worth spending the whole day.

    Kick-@ss Music Festival in Tampa!

by MisterO2 on 10/28/14MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the FL State Fairgrounds - Tampa

PROS: Amazing line-up of bands, easy to navigate festival layout, friendly staff CONS: Needed more food trucks, and interactive activity areas. Coral Skies' big sister event, Big Guava Music Festival had a chill zone which would have been a nice addition at Coral Skies. I would definitely recommend Coral Skies to any live music enthusiast!

This venue is very unfriendly to concertgoers

by Katydidwhat on 10/28/14MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the FL State Fairgrounds - Tampa

I was very excited about the lineup when first announced and purchased a pit ticket. The set up was okay and I liked the market area. I was glad someone remembered to get the proper permit to allow for alcohol to be carried in the second stage and food truck area. The rules in the amphitheatre stage were pretty crazy and made the even feel very unfriendly. Understanding security was only doing their job, but seemed quite silly to me that those of us that paid $70 for pit tickets (I heard they had to give away a ton of tickets due to poor sales), couldn't lean against the back railing when NO ONE was sitting anywhere near the area. I was standing a good 3 feet in front of it and was pushed forward by security. There was NO ONE there at the time. Flow between stages was OK. Something went amiss between Coastline and this event.
