    Hot and cold

by SkullnRoses on 5/16/16The Sinclair - Cambridge

DeerHunter / Mini-Dresses at Sinclair – Once again I applaud the folks at Converse for getting up-and-coming bands in front of hundreds of fans for free. With that being said, I rarely walk out of shows, but this one just did not hold my attention. Let’s just say that I was not the only one looking at my watch 10 minutes after the DeerHunter set began. On the other hand, I really liked opener Mini-Dresses. Simple guitar-bass-drums line up and songs with all of the hooks that the headliners lacked. They are still young and could use a little more muscle in the arrangements, but could they be the next in line of hot female-fronted Boston bands?

    T-Pain Was Amazing!

by JunkyardCouture on 4/9/16Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

T-Pain is the original trend setter in music and he performed just about all of his songs and hooks with a live band! It sounded incredible! He really should be headlining festivals at this point! Can't wait to see T-Pain again!

Neon Indian is a must see.

by Swift587 on 2/2/16Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

I enjoyed myself. The show opened with Future Punx, honestly I have never heard of them but they are very good. I think their name does a a good job desribing their sound. This was my first time seeing Neon Indian live, and let me say if you love their sound you'll love the live performance more. He has a great ability to move to his music and is very creative. I can't wait till I see them again.

Neon Indian great - venue audio not worthy

by JPLSpooner on 2/2/16Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

the sound was off all night with the band constantly gesturing wildly at the "soundman" behind the stage. I was standing 5 feet from the lead vocalist and could not hear him over the blown out midrange sounds.

Future Punx + Neon Indian was a great night out

by VBNYC on 2/1/16Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Big thanks to Converse / Rubber Tracks for hosting this terrific event. Neon Indian put on an energetic, polished and fun set. Alan Paloma is talented. They were the draw, and delivered. The nice surprise was the opening band, Future Punx. I might not have come across this band if it were not for this concert, so another thanks for that. Future Punx were Post Wave and nailed their marks. I look forward to hearing more about them.

Go see them but like, make sure you get there early because the venue for ours overbooked. THEY OVERBOOKED THE VENUE AND WE HAD TO STAY IN LINE IN THE COLD FOR HOURS. MISSED HALF HIS SET. WHY WOULD YOU OVERBOOK THIS? I GET IT'S A FREE EVENT BUT CAN YOU LIKE, ACTUALLY SCAN YOUR PRINT OUTS MUSIC HALL OF WILLIAMSBURG?

    Hip-hop Legend = no disappointment

by Ultrajamzilla on 12/18/15The Sinclair - Cambridge

The Sinclair was packed... and except for the somewhat unfortunate decision to disallow re-entry the people were in good spirits. The opening act Renegade El Rey was high energy and gave it his all. I personally think he might benefit from a co-MC to fill out his set, but he held it down regardless. The next act Aziz the Shake was not my favorite... but as my Mom taught me "if you got nothing nice to say... shut up!" haha Big Boi then took the stage and proceeded to eliminate any lingering disappointment that may have been floating in the ether. He blitzed through a high-energy set blending solo work with his parts of OutKast classics. If youve never seen Big Boi (or Outkast) you are immediately struck by the feeling that this is the fulfillment of the promise of Hip-hop... this is what its all about. Legendary, and for a reason.

    ENCORE please!!!!!

    by Anita617 on 12/18/15The Sinclair - Cambridge

Amazing! The funk was brought. The type of show you remember for life! Something for everybody. Big Boi never disappoints. He blessed ears with some of his classic Outkast joints that even Grand Mama's know the lyrics to. But he also gave us a few bangers from his solo projects that only us true Big Boi fans would know about. Lastly, he mixed in some non-conventional, unique on another level, new Big Grams music that was as diverse as the Bostonians that packed the venue from front to back on a Tuesday. The opening acts didn't disappoint either. They got the blood flowing and adrenaline rushing. RENEGADE _EL_REY is a force to be reconnect with. Excited to have some new, organic music to listen to now.

Orwells and Converse -- awesome team!

by WMB2003 on 11/3/15Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Not sure who does the booking for these free Converse Rubber Tracks shows, but they do an AWESOME job. They always have quality rock bands, don't oversell the venues, and create a really great show atmosphere. The Orwells are an excellent up and coming band that from the setlist sounds like they should have their third album on the way shortly. Great energy and performance and songs. The young rock bands today are WAY better than the emo junk I had to endure as a teenager. Keep it up boys!
