Captivating, saw both casts in one day....

by sometimedancer on 2/25/14Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

Loved the choreography of all three ballets, and the Joffrey dancers were superb. Wonder if that was a Matisse "The Dance" reference in the middle of Continuum? Very nicely danced by the circle of dancers with Fabrice on Sat. night. Actually would have enjoyed seeing the whole program for a third time.

    Great Contempory Work

by RHYM on 2/25/14Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

Got this for my wife who loves Ballet. I'm not really into it very much but 2 of the 3 performances were really nice, also loved the music. However, the middle part was for "Ballet lovers" only. Still, would see them again.

    Joffrey's Contemporary Choreographers Soars

    by Warbler18 on 2/25/14Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

The Joffrey Ballet's program on Saturday afternoon February 22 of works by contemporary choreographers was varied and engaging, with the dancers, as usual, reflecting remarkable flexibility, agility, and musicality. Loved the three works presented, each very different from the other.

I want to watch over and over

by MeBPlanner on 2/20/14Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

I don't usually sit and try to interpret but Crossing Ashland invited me to do so. I enjoyed reading about the choreographer and this piece. Episode 31 has me hooked. I have since watched every Ekman video on his site, looked up all of the music. I would love to see them practice...in the streets, as well. As soon as it was finished, I wanted them to begin again!

    Contemporary Choreograhers - Beautiful Variety

by GenieG on 2/19/14Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

Contemporary Choreographers provided a beautiful variety of dances by modern choreographers danced by the Joffrey Ballet. The venue (Auditorium Theatre) is getting very dated, so come see shows like this to help them restore the venue to the same level of quality as the programs provided.

    First and last were amazing!

by LinSil on 2/19/14Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

I loved the first piece Crossing Ashland and the last piece. I was disappointed by the 2nd piece - although the dancing was very good - it was safe and what I would expect. Nothing new and exciting like in the first and last pieces.

    Joffrey Ballet

by heymarwin on 2/19/14Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

All 3 Contempory dances were very well danced & lighted. I liked the last one best, with the dancers yelling, chanting, as well as dancing

    joffrey rocks!

by jackthefourthdog on 2/18/14Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

I LOVE DANCE! this was beautiful; although sometimes the music was too dissonant (second piece...my husband got a headache from music, not me; but maybe just a little too modern); LOVED CROSSING ASHLAND....reminded me of T.S. Elliot poems; where we have an outer life (crossing the busy street) and an inner life (meeting that someone special, or rejecting our partner and moving on).
