About

CONOR OBERST IN CONCERT:

Indie rock posterboy Conor Oberst may have outgrown the wunderkind label of his early days, but maturity has done nothing to diminish the wonder in his music. Fans of Oberst's many projects — Bright Eyes,  Desaparecidos, the Mystic Valley Band — have found  much to love in his recent solo work,  and the prolific singer covers a bit of everything at his discography-spanning live shows. Whether he's performing stripped down arrangements with just a guitar or adding bombast to his compositions with backing musicians and electronics, Oberst delivers the same heartfelt, emotional  performances he's become known for. In support of the 2014 release of Upside Down Mountain, Oberst will embark on a series of highly anticipated US tour dates with special guest Dawes.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Oberst was involved in choir and other musical activities during high school. By age 13, he had self-released a cassette album called Water, which he recorded in the family home's basement with his father's four track recorder.  The label Oberst and his brother founded for the release would become venerated indie label Saddle Creek Records, which they still own and operate today with a roster of bands that includes Cursive and Tokyo Police Club. After several early projects, the precocious young Oberst hit his stride with Bright Eyes, one of the most acclaimed indie bands of the '00s. Alongside his work with the band, Oberst has continued to release solo material, with 2014's Upside Down Mountain marking his ninth solo album.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Not only did he play many old songs that I know and love, he also spoke to the crowd, made us laugh, and mesmerized us with his talent and artistry."

"His performance was one I'll never forget. He was so coherent and raw...loved that he actually spoke to the crowd and was social."
"Mindblowing! Conor was so much fun, played songs from most of his discography"

    Disappointed

by Old Fan on 3/24/24Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

Such an amazing catalogue of great songs, he picked a preponderance of wholly medicore ones to play. Very disappointing. Highlight was encore with Phoebe Bridgers and it shouldn't have been.

    Spectacular Show

by Gethyn on 3/18/24Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

Easy entry. Expert bartender, well-paced timeline. Cohesive performance with opener and band. Mr. Oberst was electric and gracious. Jazz infusion was innovative and impressive - fresh and familiar. We were allowed to linger for just the right amount of time after the show. Venue staff nurtured the vibe that had been cultivated by the performers. Left fulfilled and in love with music and people.

by Benb on 3/17/24Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

Conor and friends put on an incredible set, impeccably played. Every song was perfect and Conor was at his best. And you just can’t beat seeing a show at the Teragram!

    Amazing evening

by Meg on 3/11/24Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

Seeing Conor Oberst and friends was everything I hoped for and full of cool guests and some deep cut songs that I don’t think I’d heard live before (and I’ve seen Conor a lot). If you are lucky enough to get tickets for the residency (either in LA or in NYC), I highly recommend it. But then, Conor is a one of a kind, authentic performer and songwriter and it’s always a treat to see him.

    Conor is in peak form!

by PC on 3/10/24Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

In true Conor Oberst form, he has surrounded himself with top notch musicians, this Thursday included M Ward! Conor himself was charming, funny, passionate and just a rock star! I’ve seen Conor (and/or Bright Eyes) a ton of times and this was a top 3 show!

    Intimate and lighthearted

    by R. W. on 7/29/19Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

If you've never seen Conor Oberst live, DO IT. Even though sometimes his songs have heavy undertones that make us question everything, his live performance was lighthearted and very fun to watch. He interacted with the crowd and it overall felt like a very intimate experience because of the smaller venue. Everyone in the band seemed to be having a good time and like they actually wanted to be there. I would definitely see Conor again if given the chance!
