So many great songs that covered the the entire Concrete Blonde catalog. My first time to see the band and they were nothing short of amazing. Johnette still brings it and James is easily one of my favorite guitar players! Love Johnette's passion and incredible lyrics and James's sound is so unique that this would such a completely different band with someone else's interpretation of her songs. Very pleased with this show and hope to see them again in the very near future! Crowd was very enthusiastic and loved every minute of this fantastic show!
Great show! and to think I was afraid she may have mellowed by now! Amazing voice and great stage presence! Would definitely go to see her/concrete blonde again! Hopefully will come to Columbia, SC area in near future!
What can I say. I lost my voice towards the end of their show. They were incredible to say the least. They played all the hits and more. Johnette worked the crowd into a frenzy. James was incredible on guitar while Gabriel held it all down on drums. Solid show all the way around.
Incredible show! I saw them in Phoenix back in the early 90's....only better this time!
I saw them over 20 years ago at the GA theater in Athens. It is still one of the top shows I have seen. Johnette Napolitano still has an amazing voice and played many of their favorite songs including a couple of covers of other songs. James Mankey is still a great guitarist and played well. This guy is now 60! and still can jam. Don't take pictures using a flash, they get quite upset and angry at the audience. Also have the decency to be quiet when Johnette Napolitano asks for a moment of silence for the Connecticut tragedy. Sone idiot kept shouting and being disrespectful and got kicked out of the show.
Amazing concert, great venue... and opening show was also great!
As always Concrete Blonde delivered. Best female vocalist still! Great show. Can't wait for the next one.
Sharing the night with Concrete Blonde at the Stone Pony was a real treat. It was my first time to see Johnette, and even though she has aged, as we all do, her voice was still awesome as ever. She was visibly upset about the event in Connecticut and just could not bring herself. after trying to perform "God Is A Bullet" to continue and get through it. And that being said, it did not take away from her wonderful performance. It just showed her humanity and character. Her personality came though as spirited, and her performance was at times haunting and beautiful to a rip roaring, rocking guitar picking star singing her heart out. Totally enjoyed her vocals and she's not to be missed if you can catch her perform.
Incredible show, incredible voice, played for a long time
