The acting isn't the greatest and there is a subplot that is as equally important as the neighborhood changes. It wasn't bad but not quite what I was expecting. I would recommend to a friend but only after giving them a heads up. To describe as 'an acerbic comedy' is very misleading.

    Disappointed

by JustJazzy on 11/28/13710 Main Street - Buffalo

When Whoopi Goldberg, on The View" had such high praise for Clybourne Park I was thrilled when I heard the The Road Less Traveled was doing a production. I should have been forewarned by the short run it had on Broadway. I thought the writing was very poor and the performance uneven.

    Terrific!

by OldSport on 11/19/13710 Main Street - Buffalo

This is one of the best locally-produced shows I've ever seen in Buffalo, with a perfect ensemble cast. I hope more people get a chance to see this.

    Heights

by Jakester2 on 5/21/13Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

Clyborne Heights is a compelling play, that leaves you spellbound at it's ending and pondering for days after. The outstanding group of actors from Milwaukee rep have developed their characters to perfection. Any broadway revival would do well with this cast. The audience rose to its standing ovation heights at the end. Bravo!

Great Acting, Tremendous Set and the Play Was Good

by HugeCCRFan on 5/15/13O'Reilly Theater - Pittsburgh

NOT a play for children, definitely R rated. The set was sensational. The change over in between Act I and Act II was quick and very interesting to watch. The acting was very good, especially Brad Bellamy as Russ in Act I and Bjorn DuPaty as Albert in Act I and Kevin in Act II. The play deals with race issues in 1959 and 2009. Act I was simply tremendous with a mix of humor, tragedy and drama. It attacked the wrongs of race issues during that time very well. Act II, on the other hand, relied on cliques and race bating way too much and included very vulgar language. At times it was quite irritating. The play would have been much stronger and would have delivered its very important message much better without the cliques, race bating and vulgarity. I thought that the ending was very powerful.

    Clybourne Park is Amazing!

by Drew222 on 5/14/13Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

This play is well written and was well acted. It touched on so many issues that have been a part of American history and continue to be. It used humor, drama, history, and other devices to break down walls, barriers, and stir emotions. I was moved, relaxed, and humbled all at the same time. Thank you for this experience.

    clybourne park was right on!

by Jazzylious on 5/13/13Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

Great American story about race and narrow minded people. Acting was over the top, and I can see why this play was given so many great reviews by the New York critics. A must see for theater buffs.
